Hi Holger,
you bad boy. Why do I have to write this in English?
Congratualtion that your TS is working finally. But bad news: I´ll count your vote for Thursday, because important is not only this special Thursday or Friday, but the future ones too.
I hope you understand what I mean. If its not okay for you tell me please, I´ll change it then.
Cheers,

Hi Tom,
I agree, Thursday will be my usual prefered Day!
I thought you're asking especially for next Thursday (after 06.10.2008), where I couldn't participate!
But generally again, I prefer Thursdays!
So you think right, to put my vote on Thursdays!
Thanks,
Holger

Hi you Rookies and Snails, you Tail end Charlies.
Captain Slow is to take place at:
Monday, 29.09., 20.00 Uhr, Server 4
Car: Lotus Elite
Tracks: Lienz GP / Machwerk
Training: 50 minutes, Quali: 0 minutes, Race: 7 laps (Lienz) / 3 laps (Machwerk)
Motto:
We will get faster as we have fun together.
Driving in the pack, side by side doing neck & neck races is important not the position you are in. If someone slides off the track or they are a bit slower we wait for them to catch up so we can all drive and jostle just having fun together. And if you knock a driver off the track: Say sorry and WAIT!
Teamspeak: Would be great, but it's not a must.
If you like the idea:
Having fun is more important and not where you finish, then:
You Rookies and Snails, you Knights of the red tail lights:
Come to Captain Slow and get faster as we have fun together.
Cheers, Tom
P.S. Quali 0 minutes is correct! For a Quali on a long track like Machwerk we hardly have the time, so I decided to take it off. And to have fun together your start place shoulnd´t be important.

Hi guys.
Last night we had two long tracks and two races of half an hour for the first time. I hope you did like it.
Please: If we are driving in a pack and you get lost: TELL US! If you go to pit: TELL US! Often we are waiting and nobody is coming.
Because now we have an esperienced mechanic among us we are able to offer Setup Nights to you. The first one is to take place at:
- Monday, 06.10. Setup Night at Spa with BMW CSL and Ford Capri
one week later then:
- Monday, 13.10. Rookie Race (Training 0,5 h, Quali 0,5 h, Race 1 hour)
Cheers, your Captain Slow

Tom,
Sorry I had to pull out before the second race - I hope to be fitter for the next long race, which brings me to a few questions.
1. Which version of Spa will we be using?
2. Are you giving us the choice of driving the CLS or Capri - in other words we will have a mixed grid for the race (sounds good to me).
3. What does the setup night entail - there are some good setups available in the game downloads for both cars - Big Ron's CLS setup is a gem.
4. Are you going to enforce a pit stop or are you leaving that decision to the individual driver. Does anyone know if the tyres will last 20 plus laps?
Seems to me it's going to be great and I am really looking forward to it.

Hi Ligel,
and here are some answers:
1. We're going to drive the modern layout of Spa
2. It's your choice if you take the BMW or the Ford
3. The Setup-night is the preparing session for the race after weeks. BigRon and I will join the session and try to support if anyone needs help in finding the right setup or racing line. So, the CSL setup you mentioned shouldn't be the worst choice For all of you who wants to take the Capri I will upload a setup for the race.
4. I think a pit stop allows tho create a strategy and this should be part of a longer race
So long dudes

In this case may I need to clarify something!
The setup-evening (Oct. 6th) and "Rookie-Race" on SPA (Oct. 13th) was very intersting and successful for some of "us"!!
Thanks to all who were involved to organise this Event (B8man, Big_Ron, MagicGrip / Captain Slow)!!!
But a problem is, most suggestions for next "Rookie-Club" are done in the german Thread!
I want to explain some of "our" suggestions also at this Thread:
"burps" suggested to have a "Rookie-session" with only one Track, but 3 different cars of each class (TC-65, GTC-65 and GTC-TC 76)! So it is easier to know one track only, but to learn how to drive different cars on this track.
Additonally I described my opinion, to repeat such procedure like on SPA , because "burps" meant to have a "Rookie-Race" on Bathurst with V8-Cars (Falcon, Mustang, GT350).
So I would recommend you may use an "Online-translator" (like "GeeDee" to understand whats going on at german forum!?
Nevertheless, please tell us your opinions and Suggestions about "Rookie-Club" in this thread!!
Hope to see some of you "english spoken guys" on Mondays "Snail-Races and Rookie-Club" as before, but don't participate only! Please tell us your suggestions also here!!
Belive me, we read it!!!
"We are the BUDE!", and we do what "you" want!
See you on "Server 4" next Monday!
Cheers,
Holger

Hi Holger, Burps, El Capi'tano Sloow and all,
The suggestion to use a translator is good but some of the translations are really bad and just as hard as understanding the language you are translating, he he, but not all of the time.
Sometimes it is very easy to understand, but quite often you can read the thread completely the opposite of what it means, so be very aware of this when using one.
@burps, A very good idea to use different classes of car on the same track.
Cheers,

"Moin" Gordon my m8 ,
I know what you mean, but "bad translation" sometimes is better as "more than nothing"!?!?
What I want to tell to the "native english speakers" is:
Post your opinions, ideas and suggestions here, because we will read it and take care about it for one of the next "Rookie-Club"-Events!!!
Again: "You are the BUDE!"
In this case, please tell us your ideas, and (if most of "Rookies" agree) we will try to do it!!!
Cheers
Holger
PS: Please apologise my "bad" knowledge about english language (especially grammar!)!

Is there any conspiracy gonig on against me, Magic?
If there is, I will only suggest following cars for the future events: MUSTANG (KNEE!!!) - FALCON (KNEE!!!) - CORVETTE (KNEE!!!) - SHELBY (KNEE!!!) KNEE!!! KNEEE!!
And again KNEE!!!
To be serious:
I do not hate the Mini - we can also drive it on MAntorp e.g.
But I find it somehow "discriminating" to always suggest the Abart, Mini and Elite to the Rookie Sessions.
cu on track and KNEE!

A lot of feedback to the Captain Slow/Rookie Club thread, hehe.
I can't help Tom as much as I want to (coming home too late). But I can do a few offline work.
I've uploaded a setup for the MKII, because this could be a very unknown car for the rookies.
It's called MKII_basic_bps (thanks R8 Gordini - it's yours) and you can find it in the folder MidAmerica.
Have fun trying the MkII offline for monday.
cheers
burps
P.S. I also discovered Vairono and that's a track worth driving for the rookies (for the "Pros" too). Try it with the Cortina , Alfa or Mini etc. and tell me if you would like it for the races on the upcoming mondays.
