I tried GTL in 'Windows' mode on Tuesday just before putting on the 'Bude Sloppy Sprint Race' server and when I got on line to race the FPS was down between 30 to 32 ...urghhh.

I think it affected all the drivers who joined as they all appeared to be suffering with lag and some left because of this and didn't return.

After the first race I closed the server and ended my GTL game then I took GTL off Windowed mode and restarted both GTL and the server.

My FPS were now around 120 at the same track and no one suffered with lag and some reported a very good ping.

Sooo ...if you run GTL in Windows mode and you get bad FPS you now know what to do.

Hi Guys,

If you only have one hard-drive then seriously think about a second one.

For those of you with only one hard-drive then all of your programs have to be driven off that drive, whereas with 2 drives just your games can be run on the 2nd drive making it run smoother as it only has one function.

I have been having problems with a lot of CTD's on GTL (Crash To Desktop) and I think I have found some reason's why.

1. Clean you GTL disc.

2..Clean the Drive lens. Buy a special cleaner for this.

Hi Tony,

Is it disconnecting or is the game Crashing To Desktop (CTD)?

What type of connection do you have and are you sure it is not the fault of your provider as this is quite a common complaint and nothing to do with GTL. There are some drivers get cut off every few minutes because of a poor land line in.

When you have loaded GTL and you get to the Online GTL Lobby where all the players and servers are shown, in Data Rate at the bottom centre of the screen change to ISDN as this is supposed to give a more stable connection.

If it is CTD's that you have then this can be caused by one single piece of information being in the wrong place. It could simply be a '.' or a number or letter etc that is wrong and this is very hard to find. To locate the area a problem is in then you have to do a trace.

Please add ".../.../GTL.exe -trace=30" on the target under Properties on your GTL-desktop-symbol and post the trace.txt located in your UserData/LOG folder directly after a CTD onto the forum and ask for help.
