Hi,
I hope you all accept sending this post here under topic Miscellaneous.
We have had very cold (-10 to -25 C) weather even here in Southern Finland for couple of weeks already. The cold is already enough for me but this morning it made me happy to watch these amazing light pillars that need cold enough weather for ice chrystals to form in a certain way to make the halo phenomen possible.
A photographer named Atacan Ergin took these
amazing pictures (Click the thumbnails to see them bigger) last night here in Tampere, my home town. This is how he describes taking them:
Another quite cold night(-23C) night and light pillars again amazed the observer. This time I changed location and I am glad I did that. At first pillars were not very visible to the eye but in few minutes it became more bright and visible. It felt like watching nothhern lights' appear.
I wanted to share these beautiful pictures with you all.
Cheers,
Timo
