I have a genuine version of GTL, but I found it on a usb drive in my house with no trace of where it came from. the case is nowhere to be found and likely thrown out decades ago, along with the instructions and therefore cd and online keys.

The version I have is not a steam version, but likely a genuine copied cd download.

I downloaded Altbierbude but simply cant join because I dont have a key.

Is there any way to recover the 48 hours spent downloading everything, or do I need to get the steam version (which im not positive comes with online keys)

I don't know of any way to get a lost key that was never registered in our lobby back other than purchasing the game again sadly, afaik on Steam you'll have the option to copy/see the product/online key when right clicking the game in your library, but I can't check that myself.

At least the good news is that having already downloaded all of the ABB content you'll have the archive folder with all the compressed files and would merely need to change the GTL Install directory within the Autoupdater and select Reinstall/Neuinstallation for it to simply install the mods without needing to slowly download them again, and installing alone won't take too long.

On a discord recently it was mentioned, the CD keys option for GT Legends had been removed. So nobody can now see the keys there. Its a scandal.

Yes, the online key for GTL has been unavailable or inaccessible on STEAM for some time now.
If you’ve already registered with a key in the ABB lobby, we can help you find your key.
If not... that’s really unfortunate.

and you are correct.
It was confirmed to me that steam no longer provides keys, you need to buy the game, then buy a key online, which...
1. has a 50/50 change of working
2. cost just as much as the game itself.

Unfortunately I have not already registered In an abb lobby, I only finished downloading everything 2 days ago. thats what I need the key for, "serial number" prompt at register page.

Reguardless I want to danka everyone so much. this has been extremely helpful.

My only concern with purchasing a key myself was that you can only buy steam keys, and im certain my game is copied files off a cd.
If your key works for that I will take it with MANY MANY danka's. but I want to make sure that your sure this is ok first.

Sorry me again, I registered and signed up, I can now see all the lobbies however...
When I try to join, no matter what map, it says "cannot join - Track not installed. but i can host and play those maps, and play them on practice.


In other news, I have GTR2 now, If theres any instructions on how to download (excuse pronuciation)
Festbierbude mods or whatever is needed, that would be huge.
