                          BMW 3.5 CSL IMSA

                          Only four CSLs were campagned by BMW North America to compete in the IMSA series. They wanted to reestablish the BMW name in American motor sports and they made a safe bet by using a design that had already proven itself in Europe, also known as Batmobile, a nickname given for the drastic aerodynamic kit Jochen Neerpasch and the rest of BMW M designed.
                          An all new engine known as the M49 was developed with a DOHC setup and 24 valves for the 1974 season. It was increased to 3.5 litres and modified into the M49/2 for Lemans. BMW North America jumped on the opportunity presented with the new engine to help compete against the Porsches racing in IMSA GTO class.
                          BMW raced several cars in 1975 with remarkable success, but lost the Camel GT Challenge trophy by a few points to the Brumos Racing Porsche RSR. This helped establish the team as competitive and the CSL was improved even more for the following season. Drivers Peter Gregg and Brain Redman won the 1976 24 Hours of Daytona, taking BMW's first major victory on American soil.
                          Past 1975, the FIA introduced the fourth generation Group 5 rules which allowed for much more development than Group 4 or IMSA. Many of the defunct 3.0 and 3.2 liter cars from the ETCC were converted and raced up until 1979. These Group 5 cars are distinguished with a much longer rear wing and a more protruding front spoiler as raced at Le Mans.

                          BMW_CSL35_IMSA_76.HDC - '76 GTO class
                          BMW_CSL35_IMSA_77.HDC - '77 GTO class, (bigger rear wing + bigger spoiler)
                          BMW_CSL35_IMSA_77_B.HDC - '77 GTO class (bigger rear wing)

                          Danke an die tollen autos,wie kind hatte ich eine CSL IMSA von schuco,ich denke in 1/8 masBtab,und ich habe nur ein problem mit den mod WeiBen Oder schwarzen zuerst fahren MFG Valentino

                          Standart Setup mit 3° Negativ Sturz an der Vorderachse und hinten auch viel zu Negativ das bei den breiten Reifen... aber es ist ja einstellbar

                          Ich habe gestern die neuen GTL-CSL Modelle installiert ein paar Runden getestet um einen Vergleich zum für mich sehr gelungenen P&G CSL
                          zu bekommen.

                          Was mir sofort beim Starten der GTL-Version zu Ohren kommt ist leider nicht ganz der so BMW typische 6-Zylindersound, der kommt beim P&G CSl besser rüber.

                          Ebenso fehlt mir beim GTL-CSL etwas das für mich so sehr wichtige und bei P&G begeisternte Feeling für das Fahrzeug.

                          Nicht nur aber gerade der P&G-CSL bewegt sich sehr schön im Fahrwerk.
                          Man sieht und vor allem spürt wie sich das Fahrzeug entsprechend der Belastung neigt, hebt,über Unebenheiten springt,Gripverlust und vieles was das Sim-Fahren für mich ausmacht.

                          Wie schön sich der Wagen anfühlt und "arbeitet"
                          kann man hier im Vid erkennen:




                          Das tolle P&G-Felling spürt man auch bei den andern Fahrzeugen..."dancing in the rain" macht Freude





                          Wer nicht fährt erfährt`s auch nicht

                          der IMSA CSL wird demnächst auch noch einen altbekannten Spielgefährten bekommen... damit wäre unsere IMSA Klasse dann auch erstmal fertig...es sei denn, das Brickyard Legends Team hat da noch was in der Hinterhand...

                          I tested the car in the last days and I hope to test it again this evening.

                          It's wonderful.
                          Quite simple to push to the limit (my limit obviously ), and forgive my continue corrections.

                          It's an awesome car for a "woodcutter style" driver like me.

                          Fahrbar wie jeder andere CSL (abgesehen vom TURBO, der ist unfahrbar) ... nicht meins, aber bei CSL-Fans kommt da wohl Spass auf ... mit einem offensichtlichen Manko.
                          Beim Sound muss ich mich leider Susi anschließen.
                          Den P&G CSL kenne ich zwar nicht, aber die neuen IMSA-Modelle für GTL klingen für mich nicht wirklich nach Auto ... eher nach übertakteter Nähmaschine (als wäre der Motor in Hartschaum-Matratzen eingepackt worden) ...

                          Ich bin schwer versucht, den Sound der IMSA-CSL's durch den vom CSL 3.2 oder vom Gr5 zu ersetzen ... die beiden kommen Motoren auf jeden Fall näher.

                          Zum Glück können Soundfiles bei GTL ja relativ leicht ausgetauscht werden ... meine IMSA-CSL klingen jetzt wie der 2800CS ... und jetzt finde ich die Wagen echt gelungen
