Yet another 'surprise' event! 16 Years, 10 Months ago
Hi fellowracers,

the quiz-show goes on to TC-65@Sachsenring...

The first 'riddle' is easy - track is most probably the current layout because there is no 1967 at the end of the name - could have been mentioned though!?

The second one is much harder bite!

The 'politics' with posters has been so far that there is only picture(s) of car(s) to be used and possibly the name of the car(s) as extra info.

Now there's the car class TC-65 mentioned too. Does it mean all the cars of that class are available and the pictures just give you two examples?

I can go on with this lottery to eternity...

Is it intended that you choose either Mini or NSU TT or are all the cars of TC-65 available?

How is it?

Cheers,
Timo

PS. The main purpose of this mail was to 'wake up' those who make these nice posters. Their 'message' should be unambiguous leaving no place for any speculation.

Re: Informative side of event posters 16 Years, 10 Months ago
Hi fellowdrivers,

I'm tending to believe our posterartists think we are all some fortunetellers!

At least I'm really poor one...

Now I'm talking about this Sachsenring poster used for event May 28th:

My best guess was that the track driven was current Sachsenring track instead of that 1967 track. Went right and that's no wonder.

But my best guess for the car palette was that only those cars given picture (Mini, NSU TT) were to be used no matter there was that FIA-TC-65 mentioned. Went badly wrong!

At server #3 we had only one driver with car other car than Mini or NSU TT - not so good choice Ufo, or was it!?

But at TS-server #4 you used 5 different cars from TC-65 class.

I already critisized this lack of clear information couple of days before, but got no answer then.

Now I would like to hear what you fellowdrivers think about informative side of posters.

Nothing to complain about the artistic side, really nice work but...

Cheers,
Timo

Hi Timo

See you on Track!

I think its not Magic, but more a technical thing from GTL.

If u try to race offline only with the NSU or the "Small One" u need the TC 65 class. There u will find - of course - other cars

So in my opinion its a technical thing and an Information thing on the Event-Pics.

I thought that all Infos standing on that Race-Posters like all ohter Budenevents.

Two cars from the TC65 Class - so easy ..?

Maybe i´m wrong....

Hi Timo ,

I knew there was nothing to win with the Corolla, espacially for me ... But I like it very much and it wears a painting of my own.

Hm, for me the information was very clear - FIA TC-65 are not only two cars. At least since I saw B8man driving a Cortina, Uwe driving a Corolla, JoWi driving an Abarth, I was sure about it ...

Cheers,
Ufo

Hi,

hold your horses now!

I really don't want to make anyone angry or take this too personal.

No time for anyone to retire, that's sure! You guys do great voluntarily work here, thank you all for that!

But nothing is never so perfect that there ain't anything to make still better...

I find it annoying that sometimes the poster leaves you wondering what the facts for the event really are.

For some tracks there are different versions of same layout but the exact one to be used is not told at all. That is vital information for those who want to practice beforehand because the track surface and feel of driving differ sometimes significantly although the track layout is same.

Usually the cars to be used are shown on poster and sometimes named as well. But who of you is able to say for sure that a poster showing two different cars and a text FIA-TC-65 means that all the cars of that class are allowed?

It is understandable that a person telling others information which is so clear for him-/herself assumes that the reader knows same facts too. And the size to tell the whole story is usually limited as well. But the informer should always think if there is any change left for someone else to misunderstand the message. Better to say it with too many than too few words...

Cheers,
Timo
