Most times on the Bude you could not wish to meet a nicer bunch of Gentleman drivers (including Guests).

However there are a handful of racers who never say Hi or bye, hello or cu, or anything like that.

The same drivers never congratulate anyone for good laps or race position either, yet they soon complain if anyone hits or hinders them.

To be very honest about this I DO NOT LIKE to drive with such ignorant and arrogant people and I just leave the race and go to another server. I have just done that before writing this. I did leave a message for them first though.

The great majority of us know it cost nothing to say something nice ...stand up for good manners and gentlemany behaviour as it is what makes the Bude 'The Friendly GTL Server'

Here endeth today's sermon from the 'Old Git'

Bye for now all, CU later, n8, Tata, TTFN, Cheerio, and all the German equivalents).

Post edited by: Geedee, at: 2007/09/03 21:59

Hi Geedee,

I know what you mean, because I'm worried about something similar. I was also on the Snetterton 1964 race, where slowmotion and me were knocked out very hard in the third corner - for driving slower seeing trouble in front of us. No sorry from the driver for that, why should he? For this reason and the Pace Park race before, where I was turned around without any excuse, there was nothing to say for me in that moment. But I read your message in the chatbox and you were absolutely right.

Substitutional for all ignorants: Excuse me sir, I'll do better next time! Usually I'm a gentleman too ...

Greetings and good n8,
Ufo

ya old git, you make victor meldrew http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victor_Meldrew look like Mr Happy lol

i'll say, i don't say/type anything when racing as i have the text window turned off, as i crash if i read it, but i have set a few keys to say thank you and stuff, but it takes about 20 secs to find them, but i do like to flash my lights to say overtake or thank you.

but here is a big from me, to make you feel better

catch ya l8r

gogs

please note: i was not party to any race incidents in the previous posts and a'm just posting in the general area.

Post edited by: dirtyvfr, at: 2007/09/03 23:06

Thanks UFO for confirming my thoughts.

I must admit that when you and your car are abused by ignorant oafs that never say sorry you don't really feel in the mood for typing anything but who the f*** hit me!

If I get knocked off the track or turned around without so much as a sorry then I make sure that the driver responsible and all else in the race know what this crap chap has done without apologising or waiting . I will keep on at that driver reminding him/her of the Bude rules and that I'm doing so because Bude standards have to be maintained .

Usually the driver will eventually admit they were a tad foolish and say sorry and I forgive them but you get some that will argue it wasn't them or they where pushed themselves etc., when you know for sure they did do it for without anyone else's involvement .

I just go off-line, check the replay , and give them hell again . The outcome is that they are much more careful in the future and more than not will say sorry . Some times other drivers will join in and back you up . So stand up for the Bude philosophy and racing rules and demand good manners & gentlemany behaviour .

The 'Old Git (the Budes Victor Meldrew) has spoken and thanks for the reality check dirtyvfr who I know is a good mannered gentlemany driver who I respect and is also an up and coming contender for my throne . Get in there mate lets give the baddies hell ...the sheriff and his posse are in town ...yeehahhhhhh!

Post edited by: Geedee, at: 2007/09/04 06:35

Thank you for your backup, Geedee!

I know the guys -absolute rookies on the Bude, I saw in the paddock today- and will let them know what they made wrong in future. I didn't have the guts blaming someone namely in the race so far. I am a noob too, you know .

Perhaps you should give lessions in behaviour and gentleman driving also, not only in drifting !?

Cu on track,
Ufo

i've only been racing here for a few weeks.

i'd say, as most would, that the standard of driving at the bude is very high and fast, clean, skilled and tough but fair.

but i'm sure a few drivers (a very small minority) still think they are racing the AI and they are the only person on the track.

the one i notice the most is

when people are re-joining the track after going off and they just drive right into the middle of the track (at 90 degress to the track, then turn)or to the racing line without looking.

i'll add, that i make a good few mistakes myself and try my best not to take anyone off, but it does happen and i'm sure it will happen again. But when i go off on my own, i try to make it look like it was planned. roflol

tip: don't spend to long writing stuff as you will auto log out

At the start of a race I always press the TAB key, so I can see the name of the drivers above all cars
So I know who is wrecking me or who owns me haha

Blinking with the lights is a very good way to communicate imo. Using the keyboad is not a good idea when racing with your wheel haha
