Lose f/feedback or all steering inputs? 15 Years, 3 Months ago
                    Hi all,

Just started racing on the bude again now the new flat has been sorted and the internet connection has been set up

Only problem is that between sessions, if i go straight out onto the track, sometimes i have no force feedback and other times none of the steering inputs work at all.

If there is no force feedback then I have to go back into the garage, change the type of forcefeedback that is being used (and then change it back) and it works perfectly. This can get a bit stressful for the beginning of a race...!

However if I go out of the garage and none of the steering inputs work then there is nothing I can do to get it to work again, i have to quit and restart the game... this is REALLY annoying when it goes into the race session because there's no way i can get back into the server

Has anyone else had the same issue or does anyone know of any way to correct it?? I'm using the CBS version of GT Legends and a G25 with all spring damping and central force turned off. If there's any other specs that would help answer this problem then let me know!

Really want to get this sorted, any help would be MUCH appreciated!!!

                    Cheers guys,

                    jmayna/Mez

                    Hi,

sometimes simply creating a new ingame profile helps.
Make a backup of your userdata folder (best to somewhere outside of the GTL filestructure.
Inside the userdata of your GTL installation you will find a folder with the same name as your ingame profile - delete the whole folder.
Start GTL and create a new profile with the same name you used before.
Exit GTL again and copy the [yourprofilename].plr file into your gtl\userdata\[yourprofilename] folder - by this you keep all the ingame settings the way they were before.
Start GTL again and see if it worked.

Does the problem only occur on GTL or can you reproduce it using win-systemproperties-gamecontroller view?
Is the G25 connected directly to the motherboard or is there an USB-hub in between?
Did you test on all available USB-ports?
Sometimes useful to know: What OS are you using?

                    Regards
                    faderone

I'll try the profile change when I get home, I know that it has worked in the past...

The problem only occurs in GTL, I also have Race 07, Race On, STCC, Volve: The game and others and I never have any problems in any of those...

I have moved the G25 around the USB ports but I will try that again if the profile change doesn't work. I never use it connected via a hub.

Using Windows 7, I'll bore you with all the other technical specs later on if i can't get it running properly!!

                    Thanks for your help mate,

                    jmayna/Mez

!!! STOP DONT CREATE A NEW PROFILE !!!

I got the same problem sometimes and I think its much easier to fix.
If you have no FFB press ESC to get back to box and go to Options on the bottom of the screen => Input/Steering/FFB-Menu (don't know the names in english but must be something like this). You want to see the FFB-screen with the check-box "invert effects".
Simply check and uncheck the box a few times (remember your settings checked or unchecked) and go back on track.
In my case this way always helped and you can stay in the game.

                    Cheers
                    Kai

                    Hi Kai,

Thanks for the reply, thats what I've been doing but the biggest problem is that sometimes it just won't recognise any inputs of the G25...

The force feedback issue I can deal with but there's no way I can find of correcting the inputs issue without restarting the game... Did you find checking and unchecking the box got rid of issues with inputs too?

                    Thanks,

                    jmayna/Mez

Try key combo "Alt+f" while on track. This should reset your ForceFeedback.

Is the a pre set key combination? Does it just 'turn on and off' the force feedback? Or does it cange which force feedback set is used?

Hopefully these suggestions will work cos then I'll be instead of

                    Thanks all,

Oelfuß knows the trick. But you can find his advice also in the readme.txt of the GTL 1.1 update:

                    25. Left Alt + F key manually resets force feedback.

                    Hi all,

Many thanks for the Alt + F shortcut, works a treat when the force feedback isn't working

Only thing is, I'm still having problems of the controller having absolutely no inputs when I go into some sessions (i.e when i click race to go out of the garage, i cannot move or change gear or anything...)

I have noticed though that if i go into the controller settings to try and configure it, every time i try to re-map a function it always chooses the same button (Button 10 i think?) so it seems as though the button is stuck down or something, but there's nothing wrong with the controller?

Anyway it looks as though I'm going to do a profile reset and see if that helps at all unless there are any other bright suggestions?!

                    Cheers,

                    jmayna/Mez
