CAPTAIN SLOW - Snail Races
Hi you Rookies and Snails, you Tail end Charlies

- Wonder how the other drivers can be that fast!
- Are you tired of getting lapped over & over in each race?
- Do you have to look in your rear view mirror more than at the road in front?
- Do you drive behind the rest of the field but would rather have:

=> ultimately thrilling neck-and-neck races
- not against the AI on Semipro but against other drivers!

the races for Rookies, Snails and Knights of the red tail lights.

Motto: We will get faster as we have fun together.

Driving in the pack, side by side doing neck & neck races is important not the position you are in. If someone slides off the track or they are a bit slower we wait for them to catch up so we can all drive and jostle just having fun together.

GeeDees Sloppy Sprint Races offer the same style of racing, but a bit more challenging and I can recommend it to everybody.

We have got the okay and the assistance of the Bude Admins, some of our Pros even want to join and give us some tips ...Don't miss this chance.

Date: Monday during Rookie Club Summer Break, (we will see about future).

Time: 20.00 - 22.30 Uhr CET estimated (19.00 -21.30hrs UK time approx)

Tracks: Autopolis / Brimingham Sprint Series / Knutstorp / Nürburg Village / A1 Ring

Car: Lotus Cortina

Teamspeak: Would be great, but it's not a must.

Sir Gordon, thank you for joining and doing those nice setups for us! And Yes, I agree that the Pros should do more than just race and some of them even do. GREAT THANKS! But on the other hand its just a fun event and if anybody just wants to have fun - thats what its all about!

There´s been a question for doing setups together. Would you prefere to drive less tracks and have more time for each track to do that?

I hope you had as much fun as I had last night. Maybe the Elan wasn´t choosen very well for our Rookies, but you all managed it well in the end.

If you slide off the track, give me a "Wait" please. I do not notice your "picnic" all the time. We will wait even for the slowest snail, so don´t be ashamed.

Last week jako voted for "Roskilde Ring", but we soon had enough tracks. So we´ll drive it this week. We still need four tracks and a car for our next event. Go Go Go!

Today we have been more than 20 racers again and its been great fun. Nice and fair neck & neck races and good helpful hints via TS. What can we want more? Only your track suggestions ... Roskilde for ROOKIES? But thats YOUR thing, not mine.

We have the tracks for next week soon, they were left over from this time: Loch Rannoch Short / Barbagallo / Brands Hatch Indy / Castle Combe / Hockenheim Short

Car: we still need one, HURRY you snails.

For the Pros: You want more of this kind of racing? Then come to Gordons "Sloppy Sprint Races", they offer the same kind of HAVING FUN TOGETHER as "Captain Slow" does, only on a higher driving level. Please do not think I will loose you, ney ney! Go on in joining the Captain anyway!

For the Snails: You want to meet some other snails on the Bude server now and then? Post it in this forum or send me a PM for the Snail List.

Hi Capi'tano Sloow,

He he, tonight was great fun as usual, nice relaxed racing, nothing serious and some really good company to drive with.

If you want a car to drive next time then I suggest the Abarth and tracks would be Toban, Mills, Cadwell again, Mid America and of course Pace Park as these are great tracks that you can throw the little car into corners to help give the snails more confidence with a car and they are favourite tracks for most.

Sorry, I was the one who suggested Rosklide.
But in my humble opinion it makes no sense to drive only easy tracks for Rookies. This way they don't learn how to react in difficult situations and I think they would want to.

So normally I would suggest Machwerk, Lienz 24h or Rally China or even better Bergrennen, but they are too long, noo just joking.

Was Rosklide too hard for anybody? If so I apologize.

In my opinion Roskilde is a fun track to drive and anyone racing it should not take it too seriously as there are always lots of crashes there. Because of this it can help to train the Rookies to be careful as all tracks are NOT of a similar nature and they should be ready for any surprises.

One day they will have to drive this on the Bude so why not now. I think the hard tracks are the long tracks as they take sooo much more learning.

Hi Tom,

I am hoping to join your races soon (Monday if all goes well) and have been trying to understand what I need to do before hand.

As the Arbath is the car for Monday do I have to have all the Arbaths shown in the download section on my hard drive to avoid the loop referred to? And is this the rule for all races? If so it is going to use up a lot of space on my hard drive.

Hi LigelC,

yes, you need all cars to join the Altbierbuden servers. Due to track rotation you'll also need all tracks. So, best way to get all tracks and cars is using the Autoupdater.

Hi Mental, Gordon and all you snails out there.

No reason to say sorry. I´ve only been kidding. Roskilde has been great fun to drive and a good experience too. And everytime on the track makes us snails faster and better. It doesn´t really matter WHICH track it is. so vote for whatever track you like!

As Gordon said, the hard tracks are the long tracks as they take sooo much more learning. But we can make a long rack event sometimes if you like. Because we don´t need to do any new lap records, we just want to have fun.
So just tell me what you want - its YOUR event!
