Hello Bude!
Tired of uncontrolled take offs, turns, crashes and early elimination from the race, things they can make a whole race a massacre?
Finally knowing how to do a set-up?
Finally knowing why some drivers here are so fast?
Then here you are not quite wrong!
Some will have seen the preceding thread on this subject, that for the next Wednesday a kind of "driving school" is planned for novices here on the Bude. GeeDee will prepare the server, normally used for " Sloppy Saussage" to do some training. Possibly because of a few international linguistic misunderstandings GeeDee has already started the server yesterday, so one week too early. Now this is not really bad, because it seems that it worked quite well. Everyone is invited who is interested in learning something about on-line driving practise, technology and Buden-habits. Also the experts are also invited, because somebody has to teach us something and has to show that we will not "knock down and kill" ourselves.
Here now the appointment and a few short infos:
Date: Wednesday, 16.01.2008
Time: Meeting from up 20:30 pm CET. Start about 21:00 pm CET.
The server is to be found in the GTL on-line lobby. Name and password announces GeeDee in the evening, as soon as the server runs.
Cars: Alpha, Cortina, Mini and Abarth
Tracks: We will see
Duration: At least 1 hour, when required also a little longer.
We will also meet in the Teamspeak what is not really necessary. Because we also have foreign-language members, we will try to communicate as far as possible in English. This seemed to work yesterday quite well. Maybe that someone can translate if there are problems. We are using cars and track of the Altbierbude. No additional downloads and also no registration is necessary.
What we want to do in this event?:
Using the results and instructions from the meeting Geedee has started last Tuesday as basic. So we hadn´t to invent the wheel again.
1. Exploring the track and the car
2. Taking the without crash through the track, so not only in time, but it should also become no camping trip.
3. tips and tricks exchange. In addition it would be also good if one of the better drivers will watch the newbies in the TV and appeals to single drivers and gives some tips. Time ist not important but secure driving. We may still increase the speed at the end and do a normal race. This is at first a test. If after this furthermore interest exists and we get enough positive resonance (also from the Admins), we could repeat it in loose, irregular (maybe also sometimes regular) distances and we could do training in special subjects all around driving comparable with the "driving school" in GTR2, what in GTL does not exist. Many thanks once again to GeeDee for his application and to everyone who is willing to share his experience to a bunch of wild hogs. Till the next Wednesday. We would be glad to meet you.
Regards
Jochen
Sorry for my English, small talk may work but to create such a novell....
