I just got back into GTL after going down the race07 road for a while, and I see that this is the best place far and away to join some good online races. However, I got the autoupdater working but when I ask it to update, it tells me I need more free space on my HD. I have about 18 gigs free, not much but I'm on a laptop with 1 HD and 200 gigs total so that's all I got. Regardless, how could it possibly need more than 18 gigs to update GTL? I just want enough stuff to be able to join the servers and not have conflicts, I don't need every track ever released for the game, is there a way to slim down what it downloads?

I think you need 12 GB for the ingame updates and 8 GB for the backup-dates.
18 GB free space might be less than you need.
You might take an external HD for the backup-dates. (Also a good idea for the backup-dates of Race07?)
