Hallo!
English to avoid missunderstood or bad explaining:
I just expose this ideas wich have been thought since months (and many of them years) ago.
The ETCC championship now its a 9/10 (so if it keeps like this it will be nice...) but I give few some ideas which are mostly objective based on the mathematical probability for the correct working of the championship:
- The number of jokers (I agree with Caspar) is excessive.
- Precisely, for counter a lesser number of Jokers I have always thought that there should be a minimum number of points to have in each session, for example 280 (if the maximum is 300), It is only a 5% loss of points, and I think that This can motivate teams that suffer from a bad race or even teams that do not usually fight for the top positions. It would help bring everyone closer together in battle.
- Car balance is good, but the "lapped" based scoring system makes cars more likely to not win many races but to be hard to lap. Therefore, a point system based simply on race position would make balance between cars more likely to have fights in the championship. Of course the score would be obtained from the average position of all the team drivers. If a team with 3 drivers gets positions 1, 3 and 5 and another team with 2 drivers gets positions 2 and 4, both teams would get the same score since the mean of their scores would be the same. Example (100 + 98 + 96) / 3 = 98 points, and (99 + 97) / 2 = 98 points.
- On the other hand, the problem regarding the "laped" scoring system is that short circuits benefit statistically clearly for cars that stop 1 less time in the box. If the scoring system changed both the cars and the circuits, they would be mathematically more equal.
- The starting system in the team event would be easier by writing the position of the next driver. 1go, 2go, 3go because the chat is momentary and when there are several pilots in a row there are always problems with which lights are whose. There have even been people who did not see the lights. Every year (since I met this, 4 years) have been problems with the light start system.
- In the 8-hour race we could start all at once in all races and then add the times of all races to know the result. It is less realistic but there would be more fights and and unlap posibility (so finally more fights too).
- The circuits of the etcc I think are very well chosen since they benefit and harm parts similar to some cars and others. In addition, the inclusion of risky circuits means that you have to decide between having a good position in exchange for risking not finishing the race.
- The "discos" may have a small penalty. I'm not going to explain why, I just expose it...
As a personal opinion I can indicate that I have loved having Macao as well as Monaco in previous years. Honestly, this year, Macao has been the most anticipated race for me. I missed a lot from Race07.
CU in the road!
