@ Ron and all of the purists,

I disagree that all of the mods except the scratchbuilt are more or less a waist of time or wrong because they are copies from other games etc.

The NSU TT may never have been restarted from the ground up if we did not have the rough and ready first mod of it. Also the BMW CSL Turbo can be put in the same category and as it is being rebuilt from ground up.

Some of the mods that come out are worth doing better and who knows more may come because of them and that excites me as I admire their dedication.

Not everyone can build a car from scratch, but there are a lot of guys out there reading through all sorts of facts and figures to try and make cars with better engine mods and physics.

I celebrate their work by putting a server on to try the mods out and judge for myself under race conditions to see how good or bad they are and we have some great fun doing it.

In the end, GTL is just a game and a really good one, but to condemn all the mods just because they aren't scratchbuilt is not so far sighted in my opinion ...give these guys a big hand and some encouragement for their hours of work trying to spice up some GTL default models that do lack a bit of grunt.

We should not forget that cars are always getting developed further so should we stop doing this in GTL? Would that be historically right?

The real GTL cars are from the era of 65/76 but most have new engines and body parts (some plastic!) etc so even the real ones are not 100% era correct.

If GTL has got to be so perfect then let’s get rid of all the great paintjobs that are fictitious and all of the tracks that the cars never actually turned a wheel on …would that make you purists happy? Or you could simply not drive incorrect cars and tracks and leave those who want a bit more variety to enjoy GTL even more.
