I do agree.
There are certainly some obstacles that need to be resolved, since GTL wasnt written for Drift Competitions.
Besides the fact that we should get up and running with the tracks and cars, a framework will be found altogether.
one thing i just though about, is the fact that a replay usually looks smoother than live no? considering a possible ping problem into the equation.
Thus, lets step back for a moment.
Two facts, we have this page and GTL to communicate a winner. Lets use both the most efficient and representative to the IDC as possible. All we need is an autogenerating poll embedded here, that is linked to the current track data, showing all drivers etc. and some alt+tab utilization the race.
First. Practice will be bloody practice.
Drift around, have fun, try new things, or get ready for a specific corner.
Second. Qualification, will now host the competition. All cars available on the server can be choosen, to drift a specifc corner, set of corners or lap. Only style counts. Now, briefly thought upon, starters will have each 3 attempts for the target section. The starters then turn to the poll, showing all drivers and klickvote their favorite. Afterwards the two top votes will be to engage in a 2 lap twin battle, with rest hopefully enjoying.
Third. Then the server is manually voted to race, the poll will be closed, and reset to the quali start of the next track. In the race everyone can freely enjoy their new drift skills on that course, have fun, and try out what the others showed before

Once again, Sloppy sausages club rules demand "Symbolic winner is who catches the most flies on the side windows".
I hope you all get my drift...
I think that way it could be fun, fair, anonymous (votes), printable

and fast.
Anyways, let me hear your opinions. Especially with that poll..is that programmable? I think it only needs to be fed with information thats already been sent to the server and displayed even in more detail in the live section. Which would also be a place for that poll.
Best Regards,
