This has probably been asked 100 times already but I have installed all the necessary stuff and have got the autodownloader working. However, I have only managed to download 1.2% of 1 car in 4 hours!! There isn't any peers to pull from. Are there any other ways to download the necessary files for the servers on mass?

I did read something about beginner packs for the current events but can't find them on the site.


Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Katana,

P2P works better at times, when many users are online. In other words: evening and weekend.

Another possibility is to spend for the servers (should be explained on the homepage). You'll get a FTP-download in exchange.

All the stuff is >10GB, as far as I know...
It's quite a bit, but worth every single kB.

I believe everything was set up correctly (ports, etc), but there simply isn't the number of people on that would be needed. I have tried the last 2 evenings.

Unfortunately, I think I will have to give up on this. I don't think it's possible for a newbie to drop in to this game. It's a victim of the modding communities success!!

What this game probably needs is an unmodded server for people like me, or at least some car/track pack files available.

I did read on one of the forums that some "event" pack files would be available for this reason, but couldn't find any. Anyone know if they exist?

There aren't any car packs, as everything should be done by the autoupdater.
Your slow download rate is a bit puzzling for me, as my brother was able to download the whole 10GB within 4 days during a weekend (thursday to monday), only half a year ago.
Another possibility is to ask someone, if he's kind enough to send you his backup-folder on 3 DVDs. I don't know the packaging costs over borders and if DVDs survive the temperatures of a flight, so maybe someone from your country would be best choice...


Or the golden possibility:
By spending for the game-server, you'll achieve an direct FTP-download for 6 months,which exceeds my DSL6000... (permanent >750kB ). The amount spent has no influence on the time and the rate.
