Hi all,

Had some trouble recently with lag issues, no idea why though cos I've got 10mb broadband over a LAN connection, so seems odd.

Just wanted to check are there any specific ports I need to forward through my router? I don't need to know how to do it, just if I need to and which ones!

only when i use "antideco 4 GTL" (when the Lobby is down) i have 2 open this Port´s.

Hi,

if you're accessing the internet via WLAN, lags are quite common.... direct cable connection would be the trick in this case.

Else, you can try to set your connection in the Lobby to "isdn", so fewer data has to be managed.

If only one other car is lagging, it's his connection, not yours and there is nothing you can do.

If everybody else is lagging and your game is stuttering, you should decrease the graphic - shadows, light effect, and car details are the first to set down, track details should remain at a high level.

Hi Mez,

Shadows eat frames and should be set to medium, if you have had them set higher you should see a notible difference.

Make sure that your virus checker etc is not doing a check and that Automatic Upadtes is turned off or only checks and downloads when you want it to.

If you or someone else on your connection is using the internet for downloading/uploading it can affect your game quite badly.

Hi all,

Thanks for the words on this topic. I checked the manual and added all the ports but still no joy.

Then I found that I was able to connect and get into the game but then after about a lap it kept disconnecting me from the game.

It was only after a huge amount of technical thought and plundering the depths of my computer knowledge that I worked out the problem: I needed to reset my modem. BINGO! Problem solved

But thank you all for your input, much appreciated.

Just for the record I've got 10mb internet over a LAN connection from the router so it wasn't the ISP and also I've recently invested in a Nvidia GTX275 so GT legends is up full on all settings with no probs

Hi Mez,

It's good that you are sorted now but still put your shadows down to medium if you do get bad frame rates on any tracks as there are some that you WILL have to do this for.
