Hi, win 11 Installation hat mein GTL nicht mehr lauffähig gemacht- Eine Neuinstallation hat win 11 beim Neustart so beschädigt, dass win nicht mehr gestartet ist. Da ich GTL unbedingt erhalten wollte, habe ich die Steam Version erworben. Sie läuft anstandslos.
Nun meine Frage:
Kann man in diese Version ein Mod (z.B. VW 1302)nachinstallieren. Ich habe das versucht, das Auto erworben, kann es aber nicht fahren, da es im menue nicht erscheint. Hab' ich was falsch gemacht?

an Windows11 kann es primär nicht liegen.

Ich habe auch die DVD GTL Version.

Windows 11 hat sich vor Wochen installiert, keine Probleme damit.

Frage wäre, ob die die Buden Installation gemäß FAQ durchgeführt hast:

1. DVD Installation machen - Wichtig! Spiel jetzt nicht starten.
2. Update V1.1.0.0 aufspielen
3. Python, Wxpython und den Autoupdater nacheinander installieren
4. Im Autoupdater unter Tweaks den GTL-Patch durchführen - dauert etwas, da ca. 170 MB
herunter geladen werden müssen.
5. Autoupdater laufen lassen - und:
in Geduld üben - die Installation hat z.Zt. ca 20 GB, die muss der Autoupdater erst herunterladen.
6. Wenn der Autoupdater fertig ist unter Tweaks alle Fahrzeuge freischalten (TG2001.DYN erstellen)
und die Fahrzeugpreise auf 1 setzen (nicht 0)
7. GTL starten, neues Profil erstellen und los gehts.

Muß unbedingt eingehalten werden , sonst funzt das Ganze nicht.

und ganz wichtig, du brauchst auch unsere carclasses wenn du dir nur einzelne Mods runter lädts. Erst den Mod ins Spiel packen, dann Carclass drüber, sonst tauchen unsere Autos nicht auf im Spiel.

ein wichtiger Hinweis ist wohl unter gegangen:
Alles, auch schon das Setup zum installieren als Administrator ausführen.
Ach ja, ein neues Verzeichnis für die Installation anlegen (z.B.: "C:\ABB_GTL\" ).
NICHT unter "C:\Program Files (x86)\" installieren.

Den Anleitungen in der Buden-Wiki, der FAQ und dem Forum gefolgt und alles sollte funktionieren.
Dort ist alles schon irgendwie beschrieben. Die Hilfen zu Windows7/Windows10 sollten ebenso auf Windows11 angewendet werden können.

when i started GTL years ago, i had a DVD disc running on Win 7.
ran flawlessly so that i no longer needed the disc to run it so i put it away.
Then my puter blew up and i had to get a new puter and pretty much force to get Win 10.
i got my puter build for me but when it came time to tranfer GTL, i needed the disc to do the transfer and somehow i lost the disc. couldn't find it.
and no, i didn't back it up either.
so he went ahead and put in all the GTL info from the old puter into this puter in hopes that one day i will find the disc and transfer it from my drive D.

This past spring, i finally found the disc. ( wedge in between two drawers )

So i take it that i would have to install the disc following those instructions but when it comes to the Autoupdater, can it be done to skip that and retrieve the info from drive D, and then do a reinstallion thru the Autoupdater? All of that info from the instruction is already on the disc.

i have disc but key is no longer. can i get a new key or does it have to be the original key?

i am running GTL on stream with new name and starting over all my info.
if and when the disc is back and running, can i combined the info from stream to disc? or one would have to be shut down and use the other?

Win 11 doesn't recognize my puter so it won't download. should i be concern?

Sorry, I only understood half of it, hopefully there is someone who knows English better. I didn't really understand the problem. If you have a copy of your GTL installation on your new computer, why do you need the DVD? It will work as long as you don't have GTL installed under Programs. You can copy every GTL installation as often as you want, they are always executable. I can read your online key, I'll send it to you by PM.

ich versuchs mal.....
wichtig ist das Verzeichnis Userdata im GTL Verzeichnis.
Das enthällt alle Einstellungen.

Wenn dies noch vorhanden ist, ist das sehr gut.

Um hier fahren zu können, brauchst du den Online Key.

Entweder bei Ebay oder Amazon für ein paar Euro eine GTL DVD mit Online Key kaufen, oder den Online Key von Steam nutzen.

Vorschlag:

GTL gemäß Anleitung weiter oben neu installieren.

Wenn vorhanden den Ordner Userdata ins GTL Verzeichnis kopieren

Mehrspieler Account ingame mit neuem Online Key erstellen.


Windows 11 erfordert TPM Kompatibilität, dein PC und das BIOS muß dies unterstützen, sonst gibt es kein Update.

The important thing is the Userdata directory in the GTL folder.
This conains all the settings.

If this is still present, that is very good.

To be able to drive here, you need the online key.

Either buy a GTL DVD with online key for a few euros on Ebay or Amazon, or use the online key from Steam.

Suggestion:

Reinstall GTL according to the instructions above in this thread.

If available, copy the Userdata folder into the GTL directory.

Create multiplayer account ingame with new online key.


Windows 11 requires TPM compatibility, your PC and BIOS must support this, otherwise there will be no update.

If you got GTL from steam - use this version with the onlinekey from steam thats the best way or buy it there - its cheap.

The DVD without onlinekey is useless for the ABB and makes more problems p.e. starforce then the steamversion.

don't need to buy the disc, i already have the disc.

I started out my GTL career on disc under WIN 7 and as you may know afterwards, you can run the game without the disc. so i put it away and somehow lost it.
that was back in 2008. i just let GTL info go into my C drive and no i did not copy.
Then my WIN 7 blew up in 2018 and i thought all info was lost but brought it to my cupter guy and he was able to retrieve all of my GTL from it and put it on a brand new drive in this computer i am using now under WIN 10. Its all together there on my D drive. I can see it but i cannot access it. Was told to get the disc to retrive it.
I look high and low for that disc but was unable to at the time.
I finally found it this past spring and try to use it in this computer but it wanted to be installed and require the key. I only have the disc but the box and the original key are long gone.
so because i could not play GTL on disc, i started playing on stream with this new computer. Because stream cannot read the GTL info on my drive D, i have basically started all over again starting in 2018.

Now that i have finally found the disc, i want to go back to using it again and retrieve all of my old GTL and hopefully, combine the GTL info from stream to disc and start playing with the disc and then put stream away so to speak. or maybe it work from disc to stream and then put disc away. which ever works but i much prefer to operate with the disc if possible.

Its all together there on my D drive. I can see it but i cannot access it.

What can you see on drive D ?
And why do you have no accees to it?
Can you open this data in a file explorer ?

If your computer expert had restored the required data, this data should contain the above mentioned folder "userdata"

Can you see or open this folder ?

No saved folder userdata, no restore of the old environment.
