I have just reinstalled GTL, using the new steam version. ( Digital. )

The problem i am having is during game chat i am invisible I cannot see any chat nor anyone responds, this is also true of the main lobby.

I think it has something to do with the lobby ip, host file of the setup option for this within autoupdater.

Please help i am going bonkers.

Didn't get the problem. You are invisible on track or your name doen's appear in the chatlist?

Maybe you try the option "Commandos/New Install" in the Autoupdater to figure out that all data are the same.

within GTL -> options -> multiplayer the checkbox for in-car chat ist ticked?

have you activated the chat function under "options/multiplayer --> right side --> "chat in the car" at the bottom?

In the LOBBY you must choose your country from the top right hand box before you can talk in the lobby.

If you want a private chat with someone in the LOBBY you must click on their name (top left hand box) and write a message. In the LOBBY you may also see in the middle box that there is an 'INCOMING MESSAGE from (Name)'. to answer their message click on their name first abd then answer.

When you say CHAT playing the game do you mean in the CHATROOM when you have loaded the track or when you are actually driving?

When you are driving you must activate the CHAT by pressing the key that you selected in the options for chatting. This is usually key 'C' which is the default key.

I am a reasonable GTL Veteran. The issues are some I have not experienced.

I understand how to chat, and where to place tick boxes for chat, and also lobby location.

The problem is that i can press and type chat, but no one can see my chat only me.

Second problem now seems to be that on joining server i show in the list for maybe 3 -4 minutes and then disappear from the in game list, while being still present on the trackside.


I have reinstalled windows,
Reinstalled GTl
Reinstalled Auto updater.


I think my problem is something to do with my registration login details somehow.

Have you changed anything on your PC recently that may have caused a problem?

Are you using Windows XP, 7 or 8?
