I have a doubt that there is much wanted to see clarified, and if any body could help me...can you guys were the truest possible,please :confused:

lately I managed to improve my driving, and can be relatively faster than it was in the various tracks and models of cars, love comodore, opelgt 1900, mazda rx3, 2002ttis.. ....

today, followed a qualification behind other car / driver, and almost never took off the back of it,I repeat, I was always glued to it for sure all the time, at the end of the lap went to see my time, I did the lap in 1.40.355s (too much i know) and he did in 1.30.374 !!!!!????? aranoid: :confused:
wonder why these results so different???

if it were only a few seconds of difference, thats ok, but so much??!!!!!

now 10 seconds apart is a lot, I think it impossible that it happened!!!

days ago I noticed something other than kinde

what is the problem I'm facing?? internet lag? pc too slow, and also the game???
need practice and race more? car setup problems...?

Hello zetlike, i think there could be different problems. 10 seconds is much, i think too much. So check the following:

hardware: is all working right? Look into Gamecontrol to see all limits reached, i.E. all pedals from min to max.

Gamesettings: check the settings of the gamecontroller and think about it. Could be there is a logical mistake.

Setup: check readymade setups from some other drivers who drives the besttimes with your favorite car and track.

Line: check your driving line. You can sit on an other car and look for this in an onlinesession. For this, click to drive out of the pits but don't drive. Now push the up and down-key to switch the cars and look and learn.

maybe the car in front of you drove his time in another lap and had a slower lap the time you were following? Could this be possible?

Moorhuhn maybe the issue you said is possible it happened,I'm probably even slow, the track in question was Helsinki..
already tried everything, including all the items mentioned by Stefan_R
I studied the track lines of the fastest pilots, the shifting gears they made, various setup of others racers download on web server...nothing works for me...allways to slow compared to other...

maybe the car setup used by me is all rong and I just can not adapt myself to the setups available from other users...maybe need practice a lot more

Please give us some more hints:
- which wheel you are using? i.E. Logitech type... or what?
- which pedals?
- which framerate do you have by driving? (Alt-F or Ctrl-F to see framerate in upper right corner ingame screen while driving)
Framerates below 30 are very bad.
between 30 and 50 its okay.
above 50 all looks pretty good.
more than 80 is fantastic.

Perhaps you cut the track a little bit and your lap wasn't registered because of this?

my wheel is a logitech Momo racing, pedals that come standard with steering wheel not too much i know, but its all i have.
my pc is a p4 2.8. 4gb ram and a 1gb video card ...yeah i know its like a dinaussaure

the frame rate stays between 38 and 53...42/45 most the time

cutting track doesnt happen to me, im very cautious in this respect Geedee!

i guess what i need and some other racers is like simracing driving lessons!!!
something the genre tutorials of how to run as a pro driver, and tutorials about how to make a good car setup. These could be video tutorials, it helps

You might be experiencing something that happens to me alot and it does affect my times on the track.

When i'm on the track practicing or qualifying, i'll be going round the track doing my time when someone would pop up into the room. When this happens, i get a pop up screen of that person's name entering the room. When this happens, my puter would completely freeze but my car is still rolling down the track. Until that pop up goes away (usually 2-5 secs) then my puter unfreezes and i resume racing but then my car could be heading for a wall, run off the track, hit another car, miss the corner completely, etc. When people leave the room, i get a pop up message of the person leaving but it does not freeze my puter. This does not happen at all when i'm in a race cause no one is allow to enter the room when in a race. This only happens when they enter the room.
Most times i'll be following someone like you explain here, like be 1 sec behind them, then when someone enters the room and i freeze and then get unfreeze when that pop up goes away. By then the car i was following is no longer 1 sec but now maybe 2-5 secs ahead of me. Same deal if i'm being followed. Someone enters, name pop up occurs, i freeze, pop up goes away, i unfreeze and that car behind me is now out in front of me. Royal pain in the ass but i don't think there is a solution. Is there?
If your time difference was 10 sec, could it had been alot of people were entering the room at that time?

This might be it too.
You might be lagging on the site and you don't even know it.
Some racers come on here and are lagging but they don't know they are. This lagging does affect other racers and in some cases, other racers would inform you through chat that you are lagging.
From what i have seen here, if you are lagging, other racers will see your car blinking, fade in and out, transparent to a point where other racers will drive right through your car as if you were a ghost and if no one tells you you are lagging, you probably does even know its happening.
Double check your internet and see if maybe you are lagging. Even if you are lagging a bit it does affect your times.

This time of 1.40 compare to the time of 1.30 by the other racer. You should drive this very same track offline and see you post the same time as you mention. If its the same or slower, then its your driving but if it reasonably faster, then there is a problem.

you can change the GTL loading behaviour of other cars within your .PLR, for example.

open the .plr file at GTL/UserData/Nickname/Nickname.plr with the editor and search for "Delay Join Loading="0""
0=load other cars directly
1=load other cars only when entering the box
2=load other cars at safe speed (e.g. when you go off the track or nearly stopping)

I would suggest "2", as you can stop or go on the grass on a bad lap when new drivers have entered, without the need to go back to the box.
You will get the textbox when others are entering, but you don't load them, so there is the possibility that you run over an competitor without noticing...

its like a game shooter (i.e. Call Of Duty)wheen we are playing but wheen we see the other player, you are allready dead!!!

Moorhuhn, so i needed to edit the file?..but in options on the game you can choose something like you mencionate!...

by the way yesterday my game freame was between 85 and 144 frames....

I followed your directions to improve my system,and have choose 2 option, only load users in save speeds and it help alot (a little by the way lol)....now i can be 3 to 4 seconds per lap faster than before

of course theres allways faster and better drivers than me, but who cares...always be so!!
i.e. Now with 14 riders on the track and all with qualifying times, at least i can already be mid-table, even in race now i can dispute and fight for a position which was previously impossible..maybe i find the right setup!!!
talking about car setup, lately i have use one "good" setup for me from a track in various other tracks, and it works lovely fine...is this rong or we need to work every setup car for each track??? of course that setup in case, i work it a little bit track by track, like top speed moastly ,but other settings are the same...is this rong???


now need to improve my driving skills!!!
