despite all assurances to the contrary, there's a bug somewhere. Let me list the evidence:

before I go online, I check the bude to make sure I've got all the tracks and cars installed that I might meet online. I run the script once a day. One expect everything to be perfect then. Not so.

Yesterday I checked and had all the tracks and cars that were in use, I arrive online and "track not installed". #×&#$

I leave and check again. In the meantime, the tracks have changed, I make sure I have them installed too. "track not installed". #×&#$£¨^|ç##

What also happens increasingly is that I check the site, go online and there are completely different tracks. How accurately does the site update its listing?

Now, this happens so regularly I'm kinda wary of the "bude" from the start.

Finally I manage to get online, and mind you, I do have all the cars of all the guys currently online installed, I see the list of present racers flashing, and - the game crashes. One thing I noticed for example, and nothing against the man himself, but for example if "smokingjag" is on the track, I will always get thrown out and most of the time the game simply crashes. I know from experience that the old Jags kept crashing, you always had two of them, one in the shop and one as back-up, but surely this is pushing the simulation. Why is my game crashing when he is on track? Worse, when I am on and he joins, I crash and he gets to run??? As I said, nothing against the guy, but there's something wrong somewhere. #×&#$£¨^|ç=?%]#@


Also, I've checked and with all the add-ons one needs these days to race on the bude, I will soon need an extra hard disk. Add-ons are fine but there should be a way to race even if one does not have a particular car installed? That thing should run on or switch to default when started, no? Most of the people race stock cars online because they don't want to aggravate others, surely there must be a way to accomodate both plain racers and add-on addicts.

To make a long story short: the "track not installed" thing is either a bug or a misnomer. And please do something about those add-ons that crash games.

You are still the numero uno GTL servers. I would be sorry to see you slip in the rankings.

sorry to hear that you're in trouble when joining our servers.

There are two issues.

1. Missing cars:
You'll get a loop when driver names are loading
If so, pls. take a look at website's LIVE page ach check if you can use all cars currently on the road ofline. If not thant you have some car data in a wrong folder somehow

2. Missing tracks
You'll get the "track not installed warning"
Again pls. take a look at the live page and make sure you can use the track currently running offline

CDTs may have a lot of possible reasons.
Pls enable logging as described in the log and investigate the trace.txt after CTD. Most of the times you'll find a clue inside..

BTW I tried the anti-disconnection gizmo. It loads the game up to multiplayer login then it returns an error message "general error: login failure".

I go online and I see LeMans on server 1 but I can't join because "track not installed" but I raced there yesterday and a few days ago so it is obviously installed.

I go to the bude site and I see on server 1 Road Atlanta, server 2 Barcelona, server 3 Melbourne. I return online and I see LeMans on server 1. And it tells me again that "track not installed". Something's wrong somewhere.

Five minutes later:
Online server 1 still shows LeMans
I still can't join "track not..."
and on the site it says that server 1 is currently playing Road Atlanta.

Why does it say one track on server1 online and a different track on server1 on bude site?

Obviously, if the bude thinks it is showing Road Atlanta and the online list says it is showing LeMans, there is something wrong somewhere.

I check the bude LIVE again:
server 1 Surfers Paradise
server 2 Barcelona
server 3 Melbourne

I go back online:
server 1 Melbourne
server 2 Barcelona
server 3 Melbourne

I try to join server 1 - "track not installed"

since a few days when entering a track, the game would crash instead.

I was hoping to give you a link to the car packs, but it's gone. The Car Packs link used to be on the Home page, now I can't find it anywhere. I was actually going to ask when the next one was due.

For information purposes:

Game is not crashing anymore but tends to freeze up in mid-lap. I've been doing Nurburg Village online the last days and in 2 laps of 3, the screen would freeze and turn black, sound keeps playing but in slow motion. 2/3 of the time, the screen would come back as in slow motion, and the car crashes. Looks like the car was moving on in slow motion while the screen was not loading and stayed black. Once in while the screen would not come back and the game must be stopped.

It's only for Lobby-downtimes, not for regular use....

had the same problem as you have with smokinjaguar but with another player. checked all the car files and one had been put into the wrong folder, in particular the car that that player was using.
if you have 2 copies of the same car but in different places that will also cause a conflict the car files need to be in the right place otherwise the game crashes back to desktop.

the track problem is an easy one,the server list will always show the track it is running or the nearest one you have if you havent got the track it is actually running.
answer is if the game reloads after 30 seconds the check back with the live event on altbierbude and download the track it says it is running.
many tracks have updates which you may not have
