I've been racing in the GTL lobby for a few weeks now, and decided to try and crack the altbier system today! I managed to download the track (Symmons, which reminded me of a backwards Mallory!) and then got the loop on install.

I sussed out I needed at least one car, so installed the Porsche. I was still getting the loop, but could get on track, but my car had no sound. I managed a bit of chat with JJ McLure who asked if I had a sound update...

The race then went from qualy to race, and I couldn't get in to chat with JJ again (apologies) so I am assming I need to stick to standard sounds on Alt..servers? I wasn't sure if my prescence was impacting on the other two racers, and could no longer chat so I bailed out.

Hope to get it sorted and see you guys soon.

I asked you about third party soundupdates, because some painter put a xxx.aud file in their carfolder.
Look in the folder of the car witch has the soundproblems.
If there a xxx.aud file delete it and you have the original gamesound.
I had the same problems with some cars,too. Thats why i asked you that.

How did you get on with the race?!

First i was using your Nick i thought i was a HAL9000 computer.

The Race was very funny. Some cool wheel on wheel fights with this guy. Hard to overtake him but i made it.
