1... Start the Autoupdater and this should create 2 files in you GTL installation: LOCAL_IP_LOBBY.TXT and LOCAL_IP_BACKUP_LOBBY.TXT.

2... Close the Autoupdater and open GTL / LOCAL_IP_LOBBY.TXT using Notepad or WordPad

3... Delete whatever is there and replace it with this line: bierbuden18.de and now save.

4... Start your game as normal.

5a... When loaded go to Mutiplayer / Lan-Direct IP / Add IP Address / ?????????????

5b... Where I have question marks you need to put one of the 3 following addresses:

game1.bierbuden.de (if you want servers #1 0r #2)

game2.bierbuden.de (if you want servers #3 0r #4)

game3.bierbuden.de (if you want server #5)

6... Now press the tick.

7... You should now see your UserName & Password screen so press the Log In arrow.

8... Wait a short while and if all is well the server you require will show.

You may have to try this more than once but it should work. If it doesn't then try switching your PC off for 30 secs to 2 mins and when rebooted try again.

I found the LOCAL_IP_LOBBY.TXT file, but the Auto-Updater does not seems to be working. The update button is not available, or the port-testing function.

I also saw the Ani-Lobby Patch instructions, and I'm confused. Are there 2 ways of joining the online server, the way you describe here and the patch?

Hi Alucard,

If you have found the LOCAL_IP_LOBBY.TXT file then just follow my instructions from 2... to the end and it should work.

The Antidecon patch is the old way of doing it and some have problems using it.

But is the auto updater working while the lobby is down? I have some unfinished downloads there, seems that it does not find any sources.
Also, nothing happens when I start the auto updater, the update button is not available and the port test function is not working.

The Autoupdater is still working and no problem for me.

I donate a small amount each month to the Bude to help keep their fantastic site alive and well, so I get my downloads via the FTP server.

If you don't donate then you will only get Peer To Peer downloads and the speed of download depends how many people (seeds) are connected at any one time. So if there is no one online then you get zero download.

If this is not the problem with the Autodownloader then I would suggest uninstailling it and then reinstall it again. If you still have problems then ask for help from the Admin.

Gee, thxs for your help.

No worries, I found and fix the problem. It was my new ESET firewall: it was in automatic mode, and it decided to block the phytonw.exe component of the auto-updater without letting me know.
As soon as I changed to interactive mode and gave the necessary permissions, the problem was fixed and the auto-updater was working again.

The help on the front page (for those who do not use Auto-update)is not complete...

Manual setup for the temporary lobby:

To join online races without the official GTL-Lobby you need to modify a windows file as follows

- open the file "c:\windos\system32\drivers\etc\hosts" with the windows editor and add the following line:
81.3.59.61 www.gtl-server.net

- save the file


These instructions are missing one piece of information.

you also need these two files in your GTL folder

LOCAL_IP_LOBBY.TXT
bierbuden18.deLOCAL_IP_BACKUP_LOBBY.TXT
127.0.0.1

This addition to your host file will actually allow some of you to access the online folders.

If you cannot access the online files then try this: Open the file C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts with the WordPad or Notepad and add the following line:

The reason I did the thread was because some could not get on with jut changing the host file or using the AntiDecon patch.

This was the latest way to do it as suggested by the Bude Admin and yes online set ups can be accessed

As long as you can get online with whatever help is great by me, I only pass on useful info.
