Don't tell me that if I want to join altbierbude's servers I have to download all tracks and all skins

I have ISDN

unfortunately you have to download all tracks and cars (with the download-script) if you wanna join the altbierbude-servers online.

if you don't have all this data you will end up in loading-loops and thus won't be able to play. if a server runs a track or car that you don't have installed you will end up in those loops.

added: lowrider is right. you don't need all the tracks, just the tracks that are run by the server. these tracks change every week. you can check out which tracks are run by which server, on the left side of this page >LIVE

but you need all Cars and the Tracks that you wan't to drive

When you lost a Track you can not drive this Track but all the others you have

When you lost a Car and anyone Join the Server with this Car then you lands in a endless Load

The Bude is the best server to be on and well worth downloading the tracks and cars. Most all of the guys here are friendly and helpful so all you have to do is ask and help will come.

There are no other servers who offer as much and give so much so please download and join us. Once you have all the tracks & cars any new ones will take little time to download.

The sooner you start the sooner you can race ...now get on that computer and crank up the hard drive!

One example ...

The track of Anderstorp is a "default" GTL track. Why, when I try to join a "Bud-er" with this track installed, the game tell me I havent it installed?
Have you "updated" GTL-default-track too?

P.S. I suggest the Crew create a DVD (low-cost ) where we ISDNers can find all we need to join "Bud-ers" ....

guess you re talking about what the ingame lobby of GTL shows?
in that case its GTL is just confused: the track running on the server is a add on track you don t have on your system and the lobby shows a random default track.

you can see what track is raced at present on the right side of all altbierbuden-pages if you scroll down and look for the server you wanna drive. alternativ you can click on "LIVE" on the left side and choose the server in the drop-down menue to see who is on in what car and the running tracks.

since there are servers for TC-65 only (server 2) and GTC-65 only (server 3) you don t have to load all cars but atleast all of one of that classes and then just drive on the server the class runns on.
sure, hard enough for ISDN but what can you do? car and tracks are one of the big advantages of the "bude"!

In the time it has taken to write all these forum replies to your problem, all the cars and tracks on the Shack could have been downloaded.

Leave your computer on while you sleep and who knows what Santa Claus may bring you in the morning.

It really is worth the effort.

And don't forget all you noobies the old Bude does not run on air ...no sir, the unpaid guys who run this wonderful server need donations to keep it going, so please give something back ...every little bit helps.

(if I unsterstood right you have only ISDN? Think it would need up to 7 to 8 days of constantly downloading all the stuff...)

What about a faster internet-connection? I think online driving won't be much fun with that slow connection either. It will be worth a faster connection just for the buden-racing-time, believe me!

Never had problems with ISDN to play: sometimes better then my friends's ADSL.
Problem is that where I live (Mountain) ISDN is .... maximum!!
Maybe in a future ...
