Thank you for the reply. I was already 'maxxed out' with all my graphic settings on their highest.

There is no backfire graphic when driving, unless I choose 'swingman view', but still only my car has the effect, no other cars. Same with replay, only my car shows backfire. I have obviously tried multiple cars on multiple tracks. weird.

There is another option you can check:
Open our AutoUpdater and go to
"Tweaks" => "Profile Settings" => "PLR Settings" => "Graphics Options".
Check the box next to "Review Particles".
If you make any changes, don't forget to save.
Oh yes, one more thing: GTL must be closed for the changes.

If the problem persists, then I'm at the end of my limited knowledge.r

No luck I'm afraid. Thanks for all the help and suggestions. I'm guessing the only solution will be a reinstall, but that'll have to wait.
