Hi,

I'm beeing booted in all servers, even if the server/track is empty, even with game cars (not bierbud's or extra). Can someone give me a clue?

It all started with this problem I had with an error in autoupdate which prevented from update.
After searching the forum, I reinstalled the autoupdate, but it didn't work.
After that, I assumed it was some extra car I've installed (917K, Alfa33, Matra, etc).
So I removed them from the gamedata and reinstalled the game. Then, I ran the autoupdate fine till it was done.

Inicially I tried to go multiplayer but realised I'd forgot to apply the 1.1 patch, which I then applied.
That's when I started to be booted in every server.
I even tried to re-register with a diferent name or enter an empty server, with no success.

I thought that it must be some other car or default file that had been switched.

So, I deleted teams and location folders and reinstalled the game once more, then the 1.1 patch, and then the autoupdate.

Still, I keep beeing booted at all bierbude servers.

I'm using an original CD which is always in the drive.

Any advice ?

It tells you about joining online.

If that doesn't help write again.

GeeDee: I used to play GTL multiplayer for more than one year (profile name: ASC). I've registered with a new lobby name, as refered in the Altbierbuden-Lobby home page but that didn't work. I get to the online lobby ok but when joining a bude-server race, i get kicked after the users acknowledge ('you have been booted'.

B8man: somewhere in the future, it would be nice to play without the dvd, because my 18 months kid is very curious about the dvd drive... but in the meanwhile, do you think that the no-cd thing is really necessary to play online?
As for the installation, I already did it twice, although I must say I didn't uninstall or even delete completely the gtl folders - I just deleted the teams, sounds and locations folders and then reinstalled over it, applied the 1.1 patch and then did the autoupdate. No luck.

I also tried to create a new GTL profile, with only one car (the default) because there could be some inconsistency in the old profile about cars that aren't there anymore, but that didn't work either.

The only thing I can think of is to completely uninstall, delete eventual remaining folders and install again from scratch.
Any other ideas? Please?

One more thing: I tried to do a trace when joining online.
In the begining of the file is when I tried to join Server2 with autopolis track.
I can't say where it gets lost, because after that there is some data about local cup races I drove after.

I looked at your trace file and I cannot see any reason why you were booted. Maybe someone else could take a look as I have only limited knowledge of these files.

When you uninstall GTL you do not need to delete the Sounds, Teams, locations folders etc.

Simply use the uninstall feature on the GTL disc... don't do it any other way as you can lose data that you may want.

Now you are ready to reinstall GTL and also the 1.1 patch.

If you follow all the instructions on the Home Page/Altbierbuden-Lobby then you shouldn't really have a problem to join GTL online.

When you get booted, is it like a disconnection or does it say that you have been booted?

The only reasons why anyone gets booted is for having a car on the server that is not supposed to be their or for continually breaking rules and bad behaviour.

Absolutely for playin on the Altbierbuden servers Due to the crypted DVD-Data you cannot see the correct choice of cars which are allowed on the server. If you take an unallowed car and join the server you'll get a kick

Hello! I have the same problem. And is only in altbierbude. In oder server, i dont have problems. I reinstall the game, and the problem is the same.

"You have been Booted" next connection lost.

Hi ASantos and welcome to the Bude.

It sounds like you are trying to use a Class of car that is not available on that server soo...

When you get to the GTL Lobby... the part that shows all of the servers under Game Name and all of the Players Online look down to the bottom of the screen to the third circle from the bottom right hand side. When you put your mouse pointer over it it says Rules, press on this and see what cars are available on that server.

Use one of the car types shown and see if that works for you. If you still get booted then write here again please.

I try your solution, but didn´t work. I have problems only in altbierbude servers. In all altbierbude servers.

Start the Altbierbude Autoupdater and go to Commands / Reinstallation and this will check your GTL install to see if there is something missing.

If that doesn't work then you will have to check that you have tried to get online as the way described on the Bude Home Page under the title of Altbierbude-Lobby.

I had that problem too when i reinstalled the game after i got Window 7.
It drove me nuts as well trying to find out why i was booted.
Then it dawn on me. no CD patch was installed
So i took out the CD from its tray and voila....been playing since October hassle free and no CD in the tray.

Also, if you are running on Window 7, you must run the Bude as a administrator for it will not work under normal mode and set the Bude to previous versions on Window XP pack 2 or 3 or Window Vista. ( for me it was Window XP pack 3)
Also too, not all Window 7 works for this game.
Window 7 Basic and Home edition will not work on the Bude. They only recognize today modern games but not the old games.
You will need to get the higher editions of Window 7 (ultimate, pro, enterprize)
Those have the virtual XP mode installed in their operating systems so that these Window 7 versions can play the old games.
Exact same problem when i was running under the Home edition. read up on the problem on Microsoft website about Window 7. ditch the Home edition and bought the Ultimate edition and now everything works fine for me with the Bude and any other older games i have.(battlefield 42,Caron 3d, Red Baron->came out in 1998)
And as mentioned in my previous post. Take the CD out of it tray after everything installed and you will be racing online.

Hello! I try this mode, and working, The problem was low space in disk, so the program didn´t have space to install every car and tracks. I make new install in other disk, and work well. Tanks for helpping.

One more thing, i have two arquive, one is the game and other is folder bude to install in my game. i need about 30 GB for GTL. Can i del arquive folder bude, or i need this arquive to play?

Good to know you have found the problem.

The Archive folder has zipped files from the Bude in them and you can ask the Autoupdater to store these wherever you wish it to, so if one disk is full just ask it to save to another and move all the files in the Archive over to that location

I believe that the Autoupdater checks the Archive folders to see what you have and haven't got and if they are not there, then a fault will be reported so you should not delete them.

I'm sorry to report that despite many attempts, I'm still being booted.
What have I done?

I properly uninstalled the game from the uninstall shortcut. After that I realised there were still some files; I backed up my GTL profile and then deleted the gtl folder.

I installed the game once again (3rd time), and afterwards installed the 1.1 patch.
Then, I ran the autoupdate from altbierbude and did a reinstalation check (couple of hours).
After that, I applied the no cd patch.

(in the process my PC got infected with a vírus, and it was hard to deal with it, thus the late reply - it has been years since I last got a vírus on one of my computers).


Then, I created a new profile (didn't use the old one I'd backed up). In any new profile, we just have that orange mini. That's what I've got.

Then I joinned the online lobby (no problem with that) but when trying to log into each of the bude's servers (i checked in the rules if minis were allowed) I got kicked without mercy - "You have been booted"; "Connection lost".

I tried to join bude servers with no players so it wouldn't be a problem of missinf cars, but I got booted again.

Can someone help me? I'm out of ideas...
On more thing: I'm still using XP.

If someone can give it a try, here is the trace file
