Hi,
I had to re-install due to some sort of glitch that caused my keyboard to type multiple letters in GTL and GTR2 and it also interfered w/Ventrilo.

Anyway, I've got GTL working again so I run AutoUpdate (I've got the new gui version) and it says no new files. How can I force it to install all the tracks and stuff from the archive as well as get the earlier tracks and cars from the website?

Do I delete the file altbierbude.csv from my autoupdate folder maybe?

Yes, just delete "altbierbude.csv" and run the script again. It will install the previous downloaded files from your hdd and download and install the new ones from the server.
I'm just doing the same, because my hdd crashed.

one thing and i'm not sure if it's right or if it was all in my mind, i noticed that a few of my
usersetups folders where empty, for tracks i already had.

so if i'm right then it would be an idea to backup all your setups just in case, or as i have done create dir's for each car and make them lower case so they are at the end of the track list.

Used setups are a per-user setting. So on reinstalling be sure to make a copy of your /UserData/[playername]-folder. It´s the home of all your settings and player-configurations. After copying the folder to a new installation you needn´t configure anything new!

And thankfully I did have a recent backup of my userdata folder so that's got all the setups and .plr file mods, cool JoWi!

Hi,

Re-installing GTL should not affect your personal settings as it does not overwrite them. Your settings are stored in folders with your 'Profile' name you are using The 'Profile' name is the one you give yourself on the game. When yo have re-installed the game any 'Profile' or 'Profiles will show up again just as you left them with the same set ups, money, replays etc.

Perhaps what you are doing is deleting all the GTL files and not unin-stalling the game using the program itself.

Regarding the Auto Update, did you realise that the files downloaded are both the unzipped (all cars &amp; tracks downloaded and stored but not installed) and zipped (all cars &amp; tracks downloaded and installed). I do not know which one of these is recognised by the Auto Downloader but if you are only deleting one set then perhaps the Downloader is seeing the other set, so it thinks you have all the files needed.

Just a thought on your set ups. These are unique to your Profile name that you are using. Change your Profile and you will not have those set ups as they are still stored under the previous profile name and your new profile set ups will be empty.

You can drop and drag these from one profile to another if you wish. open 'UserData' then &lt;profile name&gt; you want to transfer files from and copy or drag and drop to the new &lt;profile name&gt;.

i didnt have to reinstale gtr2 as i have it on another drive...,the autoupdater keeps on telling me wrong user name or password... im useing same name and password as i do to sign into buden. not the one i use to sign into online game of gtr2 is this right thanks for help so far but still no luck

I would have thought you were doing it right. Once you do it you will not have to put it in again only the Ticket No.

Have you tried all names and passwords that you possibly could have used? Exhaust them all till hopefully one works.
