Hi everyone
GTL and online noob here lol! I have used the auto updater and sorted my connection, so ready to go in that respect, but want some advice about the best server to use and what time. I dont want to just join a game and ruin it for anyone! I'm 41, so not a kid lol, but not a pc expert! any advice would be great before I jump into online driving!
Many thanks

Hi Brian,
please join the servers when ever you want. Think about our only rule: If you crash anybody, wait for him an say sorry. (Teamspeak or Chat)
A little tip for a newbee:
We have a special training session for rookies called "Rookie Club" on monday evening at 8pm german time.
Have fun with us.
Cu on track.
Roger

Hi Roger
Thanks for that! So I can just 'join' any practice session? I'm pretty slow lol, so I will try and keep out of the way!

Hi Brian,
Welcome to the Altbierbude m8.
If you get stuck with anything just ask and someone will help.
There are some set up for cars online that may help you get faster so give them a try.
If you feel you are way too slow, then keep your eyes on your mirrors and move off the racing line when possible.
Most of it is just good honest common sense.
A great bunch of lads and some lasses here so please enjoy yourself.
Cheers from the N.E.England

Hi
Thanks for that! Just had my first go, quick qually then a few laps with a guy, just the two of us. I was quite suprised I Q P1 !!! (musta been a fluke lol) Had a good laugh, we both slowed down for each other when we span/crashed so was good!
Will deffo have a go at rookie night on mondays!
I'm new to GTL and sim driving in general, but was amazed at the community and the add-ons, terrific!
Many thanks for the warm welcome

Hi, Brian,
welcome to the green Bude. As Roger told you, it's wise to meet other guys every monday on rookies night. Feel free to join the races on server #2. The cars on server #2 are the small ones and good enough to learn driving and knowing the tracks.
Maybe you will meet me (I'm 52) because the Lotus Cortina
is one of my favorite toys .
Cu on track, Brian.

Hi Thilo
I will deffo be online on monday for rookie night! Ben trying some of the new tracks and so far seem to really enjoy castle coombe and goodwood. I have been building/driving/modding real cars for years, so GTL is wonderful as I have owned many of the cars used including a few Mk1 and Mk11 RS2000/mexico's a genuine RS3100 Capri (not many of them about, although the road going RS was little more than a dressed up GTXLR really), lancias, Tr's, dolly sprints (why no dolomite sprint mods yet?? lol) so its quite nostalgic really! I think I need to sort out a better wheel/cockpit next tho as the bug has bitten!
Once again, thanks for the warm welcome and the advice!
Cheers Brian

i dont speak german and it's hard to decipher with babblefish. I'd like to join the Rookie Club and race. I'm in Australia and not sure of the time difference for the racing. Or is there an Oceanic Racing available?
Many thanks and hope to see you out on the track soon. I'll be in the MK1 Escort(unless there is a MK2 Escort in the mods).

G'Day Mk2,
Welcome to the Bude m8.
I am from the N.E. of England and I can't speak German either, but a great many of the German guys etc, speak English.
If you have any problems do a search on the forum first as there is lots of documented help on there.
If you can't solve it that way then just write it on the forum and someone will usually help.
See you on track soon?

To quote the thread title,
Hi everyone, rookie here saying hi.
Ive had gtl for a while but my online career has only just started.
I'm still trying to figure out where/when the best times to race are, I'm from Australia, and dont speak a lick of German. Time conversion means that very early mornings or very late nights, it would seem are the busiest times for me to have a race.
Anyway, I'm sure ill see you's all on track sooner or later,
Cheers

G'day Shota and wlecome m8,
Don't worry about not being able to speak German as most of these guys speak English.
I am from the N.E. of England and there are other English guys race here as well as most European nations, Americans, Canadians, South Africans, a guy in Jakarta Indonesia and even some of your own Aussie blokes... bonza m8!
This is the best site for GTL online racing and the great majority of drivers here are good gentleman & fun to drive with.
There is an English section on the forum and have you noticed the small German and English flags at the top of the home page? Press on the Union Jack to translate some of the page to English.
Other translating can be done with google: http://translate.google.com/#de|en|
It's by no means perfect as the translations can sometimes be very misleading but it can help.
C U on track cobber,
Gee-Deeman
