Hi, I'm new here as of today and hope someone can answer my Question: Can I choose just Some Cars & Tracks, not all ?

The Python install (I used v2.5.2 from Python site instead of Altbierbude's v2.5.1) and wxPythonV2.8 installs went fine, so did Updater v2.1 installation.

I ran AutoUpdater, downlloaded one Misc file (collision patch for MB300 SL), but saw that (All) Cars and (All) Tracks would be ~6GB + ~2GB. I just bought GTL (v1.1.0.0) yesterday as part of GTR2 Game of the Year retail package (2 DVDs, I've already owned GTR2 for >1.5 yrs). I Registered GTL last night, and the Online works fine (after changing PortStart in Bo_GTL.PLR to match my router). Anyway, from my brief visit last night it seems I don't REALLY need ALL of the >8GB available cars & tracks (at least not anytime soon, I'm still in First Cup challenge in GTL career w/ only $40K earned thus far). I'd rather NOT load up my G:\ drive with multi-GBs I may never use!

So CAN I select ONLY the cars & tracks I want from within the AutoUpdater C&T lists?? If so, how?

If not, can someone tell me how/where I can get the selected cars & tracks?? Can I get them from a file server (maybe FTP) - if so does that require a $$ Donation to BierBude?

And somewhat off-topic, please also Recommend some specific cars & tracks I should download for compatility w/ Altbierbude member & others racing online, e.g. most frequently used add-on Cs & Ts.

As far as I know you have to download and install ALL cars and tracks to join online races on Altbierbude.

If you want to play online on the "Altbierbude", you have to install all the cars. Otherwise your system can´t image the cars from the other players.

You only have to install the tracks you want to play.

Yes I was afraid I'd have to download those many GBs (cars at least) to join Altbiersbude user GTL sessions. For now I'll manually hand-pick cars and tracks, and manually install those add-ons. I realize as a consequence there will be some/ many sessions I won't be able to join - but since I'm still learning GTL in spare time (when not learning+playing GTR Evo, plus GRID & TDU) thats OK.
