Hallo Leute!

Hi Stone,

I have had a Samsung 226BW monitor about one year.

I'm all in all quite satisfied with it and it has had no dead pixels so far.

When I bought it I was in doubt whether to take 225BW or 226BW, but finally decided to take the newer model.

Notice:

* 226BW is perhaps more good-looking, but 225BW has much more robust construction, especially the adjustment buttons.

* 226BW has a stand with only tilt adjustment, but 225BW has one that is fully adjustable (height, tilt, swivel).

* 226BW has a response time of 2ms compared to 225BW's 5ms but I would bet you won't notice any difference.

* 226BW has a dynamic (whatever it really means) contrast of 3000:1 compared to 225BW's (not dynamic?) 700:1, but I don't know if you can notice any difference.

So if I would buy a 22" Samsung monitor today I would propably take 225BW, especially if I would need a fully adjustable stand.

I don't know about HP's monitors but Samsung is more specialized in monitor making and HP is more like all-around maker.

Cheers,
Timo

Hi Stone,

also notice that w2207h represents HP's "cheap line" monitors and has only 1 year guarantee whereas both Samsung's I mentioned have 3 years guarantee.

Cheers,
Timo
