Steps to setup Altbierbude 2 Years, 8 Months ago
|
|
Hi. I used to play and even donated money but I forgot how to setup everything, what to download, etc. I can't find a step-by-step instruction guide. Can someone help with all the steps?
Regarding Python:
Are we supposed to download the newest version of Python which is v3 (v3.10.6) or are we supposed to downloaded the newest version of v2 (v2.7.18)?
Regarding WXPython:
The website has moved to pypi.org. In the downloads section there are 5 different versions for Windows to download. Four of the files are .whl files and one is a .tar.gz file. Which one do I download? How do I install it? These files don't install when they are double-clicked. I tried them all. Can someone please update the instructions?

Hiho,
Please download the setup from the autoupdater here
http://www.altbierbude.de/component/
option,com_remository/Itemid,26/func,fileinfo/
id,650/lang,de/
and then please take a look at this thread
http://www.altbierbude.de/component/
option,com_fireboard/Itemid,99/func,view/catid,43/
id,96840/lang,de/
You don't need to download any Python versions manually, the updater will install the versions it needs automatically.
Glück auf!

Yes, I realized the autoupdater does it all automatically
The instructions on the altbierbude website as well as the instructions in the readme text file should be updated because they both instruct to download & install Python and wxPython manually before using autoupdater.

I'm having issues with LowGuard. It does not start GTL. I went into the LowGuard settings and setup the correct location on my PC where GTL.exe but it keeps saying "...file not found, please check your configuration".
How do I start GTL with LowGuard?

Hi,
A common mistake is not to give the gtlconfig.exe admin rights.
Without these rights, no configuration can be created.
It is worth a try.

Lowguard.exe, gtl.exe and gtlconfig.exe need admin rights.
Make sure this is set for all users.
GTL must not be located in the "C:\Programs" directory or in 64-bit Windows under "C:\Programs (x86)".
When installing Steam, the GTL directory for the Altbierbude must not be in the "x:\Steam\steamapps\common\" folder.
Hope that helps.

Edit told me:
The best directory for GTL is "C:\Altbierbude\GTL"
A directory for "Tools" (example: "C:\Altbierbude\Tools\Lowguard" for the Lowguard or "C:\Altbierbude\Tools\Bierbuden" for the Autoupdater) can also be created there.

I don't think it has to do with admin rights. The problem is that LowGaurd is not detecting the location of the GTL.exe file. It keeps saying "...file not found, please check your configuration".

I found the problem. In LowGuard game path, I put the full path including GTL.exe. Example: C:\GTL_Altbier\GTL.exe You are not supposed to include GTL.exe. I deleted the "GTL.exe" part and now it works. Haha
I have another problem though, I cannot connect to the Altbierbude multiplayer lobby. The username and password is correct. It keeps saying general error. How do I connect?

Hiho
This is a common problem when you want to go online again after a long time. There helps only, I delete your lobby account and you register then again in the lobby. Also with the same data. Send you your old onlinekey by PM.
