GTL Unstable 17 Years ago
It seems like GTL has become unstable or something. FPS drops to 4 or 5 in the garage for some cars and some tracks. It seems to be totally random. One car may work well 50 fps on one track today then if I try it tomorrow I may get 5 fps in the garage. I have not been able to find a common denominator for this problem. I uninstalled deleted all files and folders then reinstalled GTL and still have the same problem. Any ideas?

Hi Guys,

The last time I had problems like yours my Graphics card gave up a short while later.

However, it could just be a bad connection. Switch your PC off and remove your GFX card, check for any dirt and dust on the card and mother board especially on the contacts then refix the card and give it a try. Make sure the fan is still working.

You could also do this with your memory sticks.

If this doesn't make a difference try borrowing a friends card and see if there is any change.

Also check the temperatures of your card under working conditions as it may be overheating (dust can help to cause that). If it is getting to hot and all your fans are working try leaing the side off the PC tower.

Good luck chaps.

I did all the stuff you are suposed to do; removed and reinstalled the video card and memory. Uninstalled GTL then reinstalled. Nothing was working. Finally I restored a backup copy of the hard drive from 3 months ago just after I had installed GTL when everything was working well. I had to reinstall all the cars but now everything is working well 50 to 80 fps on most tracks with lows of 30 on some tracks.
