I know this sounds weird.

Last night I was in open practice just experimenting with the new cars I'd got from the Altbier download. Suddenly a Ford Escort (Tomb Raider/Angelina Jolie) went past and its tyres were stamped with lots of CDs, well they looked like CDs.

I thought perhaps it was just that particular car so I quit and reloaded the session with me driving the Tomb Raider Escort.....nothing on the tyres this time. Then lo and behold, a different Escort went past with the same tyre "problem".

I've just spent the last 20 minutes trying to recreate the problem to get a screen shot, but couldn't.

My GTL is a clean installation and has only been modded with the files included in the mass peer2peer download.

Has anyone else seen this? Can it be turned off as it kind of ruins the ambience of the game. And no, I hadn't been drinking - if I had there would have been a pink rabbit driving the car .

Hi Mavermick,

I assume that this is a problem which was caused by wheels which aren't standalone and/or which are missing the 2D-Textures. You use the option "high detailed tires"?
Never the less it should be a general problem.

P.S. Which car did you use when the "CDs" appears?

Sometimes strange things happen to the textures...
for example have a look at this or that
So I think there were no CDs but rims on the tires.
If this should continue to happen, you should try to write down every car that is on track at the time and report that, but let´s hope you´ll see this never again

I had just typed a reply to B8man and then I wasn't sure which button to press to submit as they were all in German. During my search on Google for a translation I lost my message...lol.

Anyway, cheers chaps! I do have high quality wheels selected, and the problem was seen on more than one Ford Escort. There were other cars on the track too, such as Porsches and Capris, which were fine. The "CDs" were brightly coloured with graphics on them, but maybe I'm wrong and it was a glitch.....they were going round pretty fast .

I should have done a screen dump at the time but was too puzzled as it sped past. I'll try to replicate it tonight, but it'll probably never happen again now I've made myself look like a drunkard .

Sorry 51!N.....I hadn't realised your "this" and "that" were hyperlinks.

Obviously some very strange things can happen!

The only thing is that the size ratio of the "CDs" were correct compared to the width of the tyres. But as you say, it was obviously just a one-off!

The main reason for my confusion was the fact that my GTL installation was a clean one before downloading the Altbierbude mammoth pack.

Hi Mav,

A previous program that you were running may have left some variables in your computer that affected the graphics on your GTL.

If this is the case then try and rmember what you did before playing on GTL and do it all over again and see what happens.
