Sorry for the question (trivial?) but on the internet I have not found an explanation.
What does the abbreviation MK1? I see that concerns the Ford Escort, the Jaguar (MKII), VW Golf ...

It means: MK1 = Mark 1
The meaning is "Model" or "Variant" of a car.
