using old mods with autoupdater 15 Years, 7 Months ago
Hi!
After installing autoupdater I think I could use some help I already had something around 10GB of mods installed cars and tracks.
But autoupdater indicates that i still need to download something around 7 GB and since most mods i have from altbierbude i think maybe its somehow don't recognise them.
Also I have NSU_PrinzTT_GTL_V1.0 but it try to download the whole thing again in Version 1.01 instead of just patching already existing 1.0 to 1.01.

So is there a way to make it update old version instead of downloading the same thing again.

Or to make it recognise old mods and to archive already existing mods not only freshly downloaded.

Also I would like to know how to put already downloaded mods into archive folder so autoupdater use them.

The Autoupdater will automatically make an archive folder and store files in it as long as you tell it where to put it.

Start Autoupdater.
Then go to Options / Folders and you can put the information where you want files stored.

You shouldn't have any non Altbierbude modded car files on the GTL install that you use with the Altbierbude or you will get problems. Make a new install if you do have.

If you stop the install at any point it doesn't matter as it will pick up from where it left off when re-started.

Hi!
What kind of "problems" do you have in mind?
Because I have few GB non altbierbude cars installed with autoupdater and as for now everything works great.
So I just want to know what exactly I should look for and what kind of problems should i expect.

Thx in advance.

When you say GB does this mean skins or mods?

Skins can cause a problem if they have the same Car number as a Bude one. You may get an infinite loop or cause it for someone else.

Non Altbierbude Mods can also cause an infinite loop as well as mismatches and automatic kicking from the server. They also affect the Autoupdater and it will stop downloading and give you an error message.

The safest way to play is to have a clean install with only Bude cars on it.

Make a second installed GTL for your Modded cars and skins.

Cheers,

Gee
