I recently installed GTL from scratch, on a new computer, after many years away, and I have a weird issue: I don't have any sound when I start to play.

I get music and sounds in the menus, but nothing on the tracks.

Not sure if ABB's content had been correctly installed, I did a fresh install and the problem is there:
- install from DVD
- update to 1.1.0.0
- install no-cd (I can't start the game with the original exe, I get a message telling me to launch with admin rights, but when I do, the process starts, and stops immedialely, and after that I cannot start the game at all, maybe there's a issue because the DVD reader is usb ?)
- I create a profile, hit next until I'm in the main menu, start practise session and.... silence !

I've made a few searches and some people say the Steam version is not affected, that it is an issue with the DVD protection. Is this true ?

Any help is appreciated.
(My rig is a Ryzen 3600 + 5700 Pulse + Xonar DX running W10, my previous computer was a C2Q9550 + Radeon6950 + the same Xonar DX, with W7, I had no issue)

Hmm, please do not use the No-CD but the original exe. Let the Autoupdater create a link to this exe (desktop) and this link should work with an admin start. If not, then in the game directory, try to change the GTL.exe compatibility mode with right click / properties. Choose Win 7 or others Oh yes, also the GTL.exe should also start as admin.

If you keep the key from the DVD, you can insert it in Steam and that way you can get legally the Steam version.

Click on "Add a Game" in the bottom left corner of Steam and follow the instructions.

The path from Duleto is a good one.
Then make a copy of the steam installation for the Altbierbude.
Don't use the Steam directory.
And do not copy it to the c: \ Program Files (x86) directory.
Better in a root directory (example: C: \ GT Legends \ or C: \ ABB \ GTL).

Thanks for the help.

I did install it through Steam (once I figured it was the online key I needed to use, not the serial), it's running perfectly fine, I did a few practise races.

I made a copy of the steam install, the AutoUpdater is currently reinstalling everything.

Hopefully I'll be able to join a race tonight.


(I tried beforehand compatibility modes and run as admin: compatibility changes nothing, and the game definitely won't start with admin rights. Really weird.)
