I am after some clarification on the being hit or hitting rule. Does it apply in a race?

Personally I try to respect the rule regardless, if I haven't, then please tell me as I will be happy to stop and wait.

I ask as I have spent the last 5 hours having a good time, but some drivers are not respecting this rule, I 'sometimes' get a sorry, as they are dissappearing into the distance and still in the race. More often than not I have been hit hard enough to destroy my front end suspension or block passed on lap 1 into the wall. I don't mind close racing, but sometimes it's pretty stupid especially when they are driving a Corvette or De Tomaso which is wickedly fast in a straight line and all they have to do is wait until we are through the corner.

Maybe it's because I drive the E21, I don't know. Maybe I have offended, or I am offending people by driving it all the time.

As an Australian, to drive with the greater majority of you I am logged in from 11pm until sometimes 5am (Local time)after a pretty long day at work. I want to enjoy my driving as much as the next person, but the continual punting I have received in the last 5 tracks (Sunday 7th September Local) has begun to get on my nerves.

This is not meant to be a rant, just giving some clarification from my perspective, I really like the Bude and it would be a shame to have to leave.

Normally most of the people respect the rule Sorry and Wait, after all its so easy that everybody should comprehend.
But as in every part of life there are a few who maybe don't read the forum or are too egoistic to get it right and behave fair.

I was wondering because of the DeTomaso, as up until two weeks ago it wasn't possible to choose it for races on Server 1, with good reason I have to say.

You can be sure that you're not offending anybody by using the E21. It's allowed to use it on Server 1 so everybody is able to drive it as long as they want.

I'm the first to ask the driver who hit me in an unfair way personally and by using his driver name(so all other drivers can see who) why he did this, sometimes you have to claim your rights for yourself.

If I'm there and something like this happens I offer you any help I can give to tell these drivers what they have done wrong.

We are a nice and friendly community and we all want to keep it that way. You are most welcome as you respect the rules as do the most of us. If there are some few brats who don't, we have to tell them how our fair and nice principle works.
Even Pavel learned it so there's hope for everyone

                          Hi Birdy m8,

As you probably know during practice & quali it does happen that drivers cannot see your car at all and vice versa and this is something to do with guys coming in and out of a game.

However, in racing you are right that all drivers should show respect and manners to each as it costs nothing. If I get spun or knocked off the track and do not receive a sorry from the driver I keep at them and really let them know that this is not accepted AT ALL on the Bude.

Point out to these people that on the home page is the golden rule "THE rule: if you crash into car in front of you - WAIT and let him by!" and it is also in German.

If this doesn't work and the same driver keeps doing it then put that drivers name on the forum for all to see.

It doesn't always work though. Pavel who a lot of drivers complain of took me off 2 or 3 times without an apology and I sent him a PM ...and he didn't write back so I put it on the forum ...still no response. I asked him several times on line for an apology but he won't even talk to you.

He blatantly took me off on the last lap off a race to claim second a couple of weeks ago and when I complained he actually answered back and in English. But all of a sudden he says he does not speak any English ...mmmm, 1 or 2 other drivers do the same.

A few days ago I deliberately pushed him off the track and he complained ...in English about it. I just replied "How does it feel!" It felt good to me but no sorry or waiting for him.

Anywhooo Birdy m8, it's good to see you are still racing I hope to join you on track sometime.

                          Cheers,

                          Gee-Deeman

sometimes it's also not clear if you have to wait...

If it's a race incident when in corner and other driver spins out cause you made contact.

Do you have to wait then?...

2 drivers are responsible in this case.

I agree with the wait rule if you braked to late and cause another driver to spin or if your car gets out of control etc...

                          or am i wrong?

                          Hi Gerben,

If you make contact in a corner and the other driver spins off.

1..Who caused the spin off is the answer here. If you are in front and hold your line and leave plenty of room on the exit and the other driver spins out then it's not your fault.

2..If you waver from that line and push the driver off or into a spin then it may be your fault. The question to ask yourself is: Where you aware that they were along side you? If the answer is yes then the fault would lie with you.

3..If you are overtaking on the outside of a corner and cut in and spin the car it is your fault.

                          4. The thing to ask yourself is: Do I really need to win or do well in the race at the cost of friendship. Drivers who say sorry and wait are so much more respected than those who just battle on regardless.

5..If you are unsure about a situation you can always ask the other driver if you were the cause of there departure and use there response to gauge what to do.

6..Always remember to be thoughtful unless the other driver is just hell bent at winning at all cost. Then I would say revenge is sweet but don't involve other drivers in your attempt to get some justice ...unless they are helping you, he he!

If drivers are respectful & courteous to each other racing will be much more fun! ...well worth remembering.

Hope that helps m8 and happy motoring.

On the waiting part, I would add, pull off to the side of the track nearest to you and wait.

If you wait in the middle of the track or cut to the opposite side of the track to wait, you will probably cause more crashes.
