Hi,

I'm not a veteran of the Bude, nor a brilliant racer. I just enjoy racing with like-minded people and usually finish a race near the back, which I'm happy with.....I quite like it there.

Recently, I have become disappointed though. I go through practice, qualifying - then look forward to a clean race. This is when the disappointment kicks in. In (what I believe the spirit of the Bude) I take the first straight and bend cautiously - not slowly, but just make sure I, and the cars around me, will get round the first bend.....only to find some imbecile pushing me off as if on purpose.

In this example the guy was pushing me along as I was trying to brake. Not even a sorry - and I joined the community with the view if you knocked someone off you waited for him to pass.

As mentioned earlier, I don't mind racing at the back - but it gets really frustrating when you go through practice and qualifying only to be stuffed in the back by someone on the first bend.....usually, as in this case, left behind in the gravel with a car that pulls to one side making the rest (entire!) of the race is spent on my own at the back in misery trying to make the thing go in a straight line!

Is this kind of thing common? I don't see how anyone can take pleasure from ruining others' games.

This happened quiet a few to me too. I try to be careful in the first corner, because I don't want to knock the other drivers off, which are driving in front of me. But someone from behind will sure knock me off then.
Sometimes there is a sorry, but most of the time none is interrested in waiting.
Most of the drivers here apply the Bude Rules, but it will surely happen to you again.
Then, tell them clearly what they have to do and that this kind of behaviour is not accepted on the Bude.
Keep on having fun on the Bude and there is always a bunch of gentleman drivers online, which you can join.

I also have suffered in the hands of slightly reckless "Drivers" .
Myself being very new to online racing i also joined the bude hopeing that fair racing was the norm, i am happy to say overaul, nearlly all of the people i have been on the race track with have been respectfull and tolerant of new drivers like myself.
I am nearlly allways at the back of the bunch
well allways LOL ,and i am happy to just enjoy racing with other people ,i get terrified when i
pass somebody on the track Knowing that they will be on my bumper real soon,i am sure a lot of drivers could overtake a bit more carefully.
we all have to start somewhere and i am sure i have caused a lot of people to curse me for getting in the way but surelly a Skilled driver
would not intimidate and have the Skill to overtake a slower driver .
Yes whoppie i am the fastest my car is the quickest , i have the skills to setup my car Congratulations and i am very happy for you, but please bear in mind those of us who are new to all of this and enjoy a fair battle on the track..
On a lighter note a big thanks to the Bude for
all the enjoyment and new freinds i have made and to Gordon and Andy and Marcos and Richard and all the Sloppy Guys for taking the time to explain certain things and having a fantastic time racing with them and the Bude..

Not just me then!

Like you, I love racing with the Bude, it's great. I did however go through a period of being rammed off on purpose (not happened since I posted this so that's great).

It's not really that clear in the video what the guy was doing (I guess due to the sample rate of the replay data) but he was clearly out to knock people off. It's crazy how someone spends 25 minutes through practice and quali only to drive like an idiot on the first corner. He was pushing me the entire length of the first straight which caused me to knock others off too....it felt like I was in a runaway train.

Good luck.....I too get nervous when a player is behind - especially when they're in 320 as they sound scary! I usually just give in gracefully and drive wide to let them through .
