I completely missed your post about the Windows restore issue as that was the first day of my vacation.
Anyway, at the time of making the video I unfortunately wasn't 100% aware of everything surrounding the potential Windows issue if you restart the PC between installing the game and applying the GTL Patch through the Autoupdater, which is why the warning about that is sadly only present in the video description and not the video itself.
Interestingly enough even the Steam version of the game rarely has select users experience this issue with the Starforce Copy Protection (there have been a couple comments about this on the game's Steam page too) and the Autoupdater doesn't display the GTL Patch option to you if you are using a Steam version.
You can however "fool" the Autoupdater by manually installing the v1.1 Patch again (even if Steam is already v1.1), opening the Autoupdater afterwards the GTL Patch option should be visible and running that should get rid of any possibility of that issue occuring.
In short do not restart the PC between these three steps:
1. Install the base game
2. Manually update the game to v1.1 (no matter where you got it from)
3. Run the GTL Patch in the Autoupdater
I also don't recommend even starting the game before Step 3 but I have no experience on if that can cause issues too, but certainly after running the GTL Patch it is fine to restart the PC while the mod downloads and installs are in progress.
Happy to hear you got it working now though.
