Hi all, I am new here and this is my first posting. I bought GTL when I was back in the UK after playing around with RFactor. Superb game but I wanted a decent V8 to drive other than my favourite, the Escort RS. I scoured around for ages to find a good download and came across this V8 Capri on No Grip. Not sure about posting links to other sites but here it is.

If you love the V8's then this thing is a great car in GLT and the sound is awesome too. Hats off to the guy who put this one together. It handles superb too. Is great around Bathurst too.

If anyone else wants to have a drive of this and fancies some online action let me know. I need something to have a real go at as it outpaces all the other cars in GTL. :o)

Like you i am looking forward to some fair races
i love battling round the track with people ..
only joined yesterday ,getting tired of being rammed all the time..i have owned 2 Peranas in my days of OLD!!!got a big Olsamobile 65 V8 425 starfire,with engine out at moment..
Im really confused as how to set up this site and incoporate it in GTL .
If you have it sorted drop us a line to explain if you could ,it all looks a bit daunting to me..
These chaps seem very freindly here so looking forward to being involved..

I have not yet setup my system to work with this site but I am in the process of doing so. I'll let you know how I get on.

By the way, before I left the UK I owned a modified Vauxhall Carlton with a Chevy V8. Built it all myself. It was a fun car to drive.

I am off to Bathurst again this year for the V8's and that is my favourite race track of all time. Hope some day someone updates the GTL version to be closer to the real track. Currently I use RFactor and the V8Factor addon for this.

Allso when i came back to the UK in 98 i left 2 Fairmont GTs (Falcon Gts) in S.Africa) my X wife diddent do a good job off selling them ..lost all my savings there..LoL ...
Found another ex S.A Fairmont GT here ,got that ,,, Sold that (Stupid)
and ended up with a Rusty 65 Oldsmobile Starfire 425 HC coupe.. engines out at moment ,and Took all paint off two weeks by hand 6 layers of paint and now its RUSTING 1 year (Maturing) nicelly in garden, Rat Rod look....
Where are you living now?
Keep in contact as we can have some racing online ,i like to Dice around the tracks not get rammed all the time ,,i get pissed off with many online races ...
Gonna get v8 for R factor now ,what tracks and cars do you recomend..

I am now living and working in Indonesia.

Once you get RFactor running and some practice in the V8's give me a shout and we can have a race. My favourite is of course Bathurst but I also love Sandown and Pukekoe in New Zealand is a great track too. I have nearly all the Aussie tracks for both RFactor and GTL. I love the force feedback in GTL as it feels tighter than RF. I posted my cockpit on the forum so have a look. I'll PM you my contact details and we can arrange a race sometime.

Welcome to the Bude ...the best and friendliest GTL server.

We like close racing also and good manners so you are in great company.

Because of the Budes structure it is difficult to intergrate all the Modded cars available because they cause weird problems with the administration, so I run a private server on Wednesday and Saturday Nights for them with Modded cars.

Sometimes we drive V8's and other fast machines so look out for us in the Forum Latest Subjects under Wednesday Sloppy Fun Races and Saturday Midnight Racers.

This "MOD" is causing Problems with the original Qantas #5 BMW CSL.
Those who have installed the V8 Mod get the original Qantas #5 Car also shown as a V8 in the Grid.

So Plese don't use this Mod in your Altbierbude Instalation.

I really don't like all these halfbaked, so called 'Mods'.

half-baked is the right word. always playing with physics and engine-performance, but never try to adjust the visual part.

for me, this mods are useless

Actually, this mod I was talking about looks pretty awesome too. Granted a few do lack in quality and some I have seen have gaps in the mesh that shows the track etc through them.

But to be fair, there are a lot of mods out there that look great but the handling is terrible.

By the way, can someone point me to the Quantas BMW that was mentioned in an earlier post? Can't seem to find it.

Sorry, ignore my last post about the Quantas BMW. I saw another post and realised it was an error with one of the mods. I thought I had missed another V8

Cheers for that GD. I will try to join your races but evenings in the UK mean around 3am for me!! :o)

I did have a blast this weekend with the normal cars on the Bude. It was a lot of fun and the other racers where great. The Toyota may not have a lot of power but for tail sliding it sure does mean fun!! Some of the other cars need more practice.

I have found that I can race with others and host a session myself so there is hope for the modded cars elsewhere too!!

Hope to make it on Sat next week. Wed is a no no as I don't want to be up during the night when I have work the next day!!

I forgot you live in Oz so that makes it difficult.

However there are a lot of guys down there who also play GTL and do modding for cars and tracks.

Frank's a good guy. I was asking him about this mod yesterday after I downloaded it as I was wondering if the real cars were RHD. I really am enjoying it and had to stop long enough to make my "own" car. lol.

I enjoy the online racing but I have to go local sometimes to enjoy the V8 Capri, especially around the likes of Bathurst.
Need to find out if the V8 was right hand drive. Better if it was as my racing setup has the gears on the left!!

Yup, they were RHD, Frank told me. My set up is also RHD...Heehee. As you can see towrds the bottom here.

I also saw on NoGrip the other day there's a different V8 mod with a 302 powered Capri.

I may try it soon. I did a 480hp Corolla I like to play with. It's a handful though so I made a "detuned" version with "only" 323 hp. hahahaa.

I'm loving this Capri though.

What size screen you got there in your setup?

I am using a Samsung 32" Full HD TV via HDMI and the picture is just awesome. You feel more immersed with the larger screen. There is a pic of the setup here.

PS.. Have you tried the V8 Supercars in RFactor? They are a right handful too and like driving on ice the first time you try them. Has taken me a while to get used to them. Full concentration needed all the time I find.

OOOh, that's nice! heehee. I've merely got a 24" but love it as before I had a 19" CRT. I had doubts about the lcd but now love it.

I've got V8 Supercars installed, I just haven't tried it yet. I tend to go through stages between rfactor and GTL and am currently back to GTL and trying to get time with GTR2.

I also love the Bathurst Legends mod and did a couple cars for it too though as a "Fordguy" I tend to stick to the Falcon. You can see both of them in the fifth post here. I tried to post pics here but the ones on my PC are too big.
