Hi guys,
Several times i get blocked bu slow drivers, since they are slow they have to do to fight for a position, doing it in legal way it´s fine by me.
Wavering the car in the straight should be considered illegal, but the rules of bude doesn´t say anything about that. I think since we are all car nuts and virtual racing drivers it is implied we know the rules of racing, we should honor them for a fair fight.
To clarify the rules when overtaking i took this from the FIA GT regulations:
...
Hi bug,
This is from Race2play.com Codes and Regulations:
25.4.3 - Right to the Line
The driver in front has the right to choose any line, so long as not to be considered blocking. The driver attempting to make a pass shall have the right to the line when their front wheel is beside the door/side-pod of the other vehicle.
Once the trailing car has its front wheels next to the door/side-pod of the other vehicle, it is
considered that the trailing car has the right to be there and that the leading driver must leave the trailing driver enough "racing room". "Racing room" is defined as 'at least three quarters of one car width'. In most cases, incidental side-to-side contact is considered to be "just a racing
incident."
25.4.4 - Blocking
A driver may choose to protect his or her line so long as it is not considered blocking. Blocking is defined as two (2) consecutive line changes to "protect his/her line", and in doing so, impedes the vehicle that is trying to pass with each of the two (2) consecutive movements.
The rest of the document is on the attached file, and it is meant for league Races, not for short races as we do every night, but I allways guide myself by these principles I quote here, which are taken from real racing regulations, and, in my opinion, are what separates Gentleman Drivers from the other drivers.
Regards,
Alucard

Hi,
so this is very interesting - blocking is defined as 2 (!) changes of the line - so 1 (!) change of the line is no reason to say that it is unfair.
I think this is a good definition and the one behind has to accept it and I hope that all will live with this.
cheers

Mmmh, someone should tell Bernd Rosemeyer that this is not the right way to discuss accidents. Most of the drivers don't read the forum. So the best way to come together is a PM I think.

@ Alucard.
I totally agree that the bad laguage used by Bernd Rosemeyer is the concern here and I have sent him a PM about which is something you should have done in the first place.
Regarding the accidents while driving I cannot see at all why you have any real problem as when Bernd ran of the track the first time you were about 6 car lengths behind him (check the video) and he was still in front as he was coming back over for the corner as he tried to regain the racing line. Wehn you hit each other the cars were side by side and can you really say you were in front by then?
Can you honestly say that his periferal vision was enough to see you? You were behind him and you must have had some idea that he would tyr and regain his line... I would have tried and I have seen you do it!!!!!
The second incident he made another driving error and again you both clashed.
Racing accidents... that is all to say on that subject I would have thought.
You talk about what Bernd said and that you didn't really say anything afterwards.... but... you haven't said what you said to Bernd as the accidents happened! Did you provoke his outburst of bad language by complaining about his driving?
Regarding the racing rules. In reality and in sims they are quite correct but you can't bend them just to suit yourself and your attitude because you feel everyone must drive so fair. There are so many factors to take in to account that the rules can only be a guide to a situation and not hard fact in every case.
Unfortunately the Bude does not have a set of rules to abide by, but even if they did they would also have to allow for mistakes and pure accidents.
To be very honest, the more this complaing goes on about Bernd's driving by Alucard the more it makes me think twice about driving against such an unforgiving driver who can also drive too hard at times and make worse mistakes.
We all do silly things on GTL and complaining at such accidents is definately not for the forum but as B8man says and I have said before... PM the person you have the problem with!

There are so many things you should know about other drivers until you can say exactly what happend in such cases.
What is he driving, pad, keyboard, wheel. Inside the car or outside. Is he a rooky.Does he know the track and the car.
Sometimes then the situation looks different when you think about such things.
Thats why I (usually ) am not angry anymore when
things like that happen.
But I also don't like bad language!

Hi Gordon,
I thought that Bernd issue was over some posts ago?
There is no complaining goin on about Bernd's driving, and the following posts were just normal conversation and replies to side topics brought here by some fellow drivers...
And to be also very honest, I can't help feeling that you have some kind of bias towards me, and I don't understand why, since you also have a topic about a guy who hit you from behind.
Is it really necessary to clarify again that the objective of this thread was to report Bernd bad language, and not to discuss the incidents on track?
In answer to your question, NO, I did not provoqued Bernd in any way before his insults.
After the incident and the race was over, he said something on chat, I believe it was "Thanks Alucard", but I cant be sure. I replied "Sorry Bernd, but it was not my fault as I left you enough space", followed by "It's not my fault that you lost control of your car". Then he said "Go drive Toca Race Driver", voted to kick me, and as the vote was not approved, he made the comments I complained here about.
This issue is more than over and debated as far as I'm concerned, OK?

@ Alucard.
Of course I have no bias to you or any other driver who complains about accidents of this nature.
And of course I get your point about the bad language as I have mentioned it in every thread I have written on this here thread so there is no need to keep saying that phrase at all... after all, I am the one who PM'd a the driver while ago and not you as it appears.
Alucard quote: 'and I don't understand why, since you also have a topic about a guy who hit you from behind'.
There is a big difference about being taken out by a driver ramming you than someone who just bangs into the side of you!!! Don't you think!!! And more than in just one race.
All I am trying to pont out is that you must PM a driver in instances like this... please say you understand this concept as it has been mentioned a few times by B8man and myself and you have not as yet acknowledged this request.

Sure, I acknowlodge that.
But then who gets to establish the frontier between what can be posted here (this is a forum, and we are not in China, or Korea, or behind the "iron curtain"...) and what must be dealt by PM?
Of course if I had anything to say about a racing incident I would PM the other driver, but after hearing insults, I really don't feel motivated to PM Bernd and ask him for a satisfaction, an apology, or some form of justification.
There is a big difference about being taken out by a driver ramming you than someone who just bangs into the side of you!!! Don't you think!!! And more than in just one race.
And you keep insisting that I am complaining about a race incident...If it wasn't for the insults, these race incidents would not have deserved any attention from me. Not even a comment in the end of the race, because after all I was able to overtake, much less a PM asking for a justification. I insiste that I only mentioned these incidents, to justify my complaint about not only beeing treated in an unfair way (voted to be kicked), but also beeing insulted. And the first example, when Bernd came from right to left and punted my car, was not the only one - ha had been acting like that before, not only in that race but also on races before - he did mistakes, and when I was trying a legitimate overtake, he would hit my car to block, saying "keep your distance" on chat. It seems that he does not sees with good eyes someone making pressure behind him, but I couldn't care less about that. What I also don't see with good eyes is that he seems to be unable to admitt and accept his own mistakes, blames the others for them, and on top of it he insults his fellow drivers.

@ Alucard.

B8man has already told you to use the PM for this type of situation and he is ADMIN.
I told you to use PM for this type of situation from the very beginning and I am a moderator who also has the power to kick drivers from the track if I deem there behaviour unfair etc.
Now you are armed with this information yet again, you should know what to do should something similar happen again.
As I have hardly driven GTL for the last 6 months due to health problems I can't really comment on what if anything Bernd has done apart from what you have written and what the video shows so I do not know what history there is between you both.
I have said countless times now that I understand why you wrote a thread on the forum but I can only repeat that in future you should use a PM to do this.
Is Bernd the only person using bad language on the Bude?... I can guarantee there are lot's more and you should be quite used to seeing it writen. I have noted that you didn't tell Bernd at the time he used the language to stop bad mouthing.
That is something I would do if I was upset by someone... confront them about it then send a PM if needed. If that does not do any good then contact the ADMIN (B8man, R8Gordini) or me if I am online so that the situation can be moderated in some way.
As you know I have sent him a PM about his language but I have not had a reply although I do know he has received it.
A few drivers have given opinions regarding the driving part of the incident driving and so have I, but it appears it's still not enough as we keep going over and over the same ground.
I can't think of anything more to say about this complaint apart from this sort of thing happens on a server somewhere everyday at least once and in the end we try and sort it ourselves then get on with driving.
Simples!

Hi guys,
I think the admin could put in the firt page
under the first rule of bude, the regulations that Alucard mentioned.
This could be a better understanding of the racing rules, and to finish all of the missundertandings about fairness and the lack of it.
This is just a thought that I propose.
Happy races
Cheers
