First off: a big thank you to this entire community for the amazing experience you bring around GTL. You guys rock!

I have a question though: I wanted to checkout the autoupdater source code to have a look at it. I can't seem to find it anywhere (github, sourceforge). The copyright notice in the help dialog tends to confirm that this is NOT free software.

If so, I would encourage its author(s) (my understanding is that Stefan is the only author but I may have this wrong) to publish it. That would definitely be this community's best interest, because:
- others may be able to contribute, making long-term maintenance easier
- for users who value privacy and security, that would allow them to audit the code

it seems to be not free as you said. The copyright is documented, the author is no longer a member of ABB since many years. He then was a member of the rennsimulanten.de - you can try to find a contact to him to ask for the source-code. Good luck
