I have been racing Grand Prix Legends on the recent years and found your GTL community weeks ago when I saw the Youtube channel of Dimitar Dulichki.

I want to participate on the online racing here if possible, got everything installed and correctly working as I found some direction on a Youtube tutorial.

Is there a open championship I can sign in to ?

Hello and welcome to us

almost all of our series are free to join without registration. Except for our most popular series, our endurance series ETCC. For the ETCC you need a driver's seat in a team, or you can form a team with at least one other driver. For all other series, simply join at the beginning and race with us. We usually start at 20:00 German /8pm german time, but tomorrow, for example, at 19:30 /7:30pm

Edit: Note, the ETCC Hardcore series tomorrow night at Spa 67 is free to join, it is not part of the regular ETCC

welcome to the Altbierbude.
We usually only have one event that you have to register for.
The ETCC, a team event.
In the ETCC you need at least two drivers to form a team,
You can join an existing team (max. 4 drivers) or make yourself available as a replacement driver for a driver who has dropped out.

All other events are free and open to everyone, at any time.

On (almost) every Thursday and (almost) every Sunday we change the servers.
On these days there is a race between 20:00 cet (ETCC and ETCC HardCore from 19:30 cet) and approx. 22:00 cet.
You can find an overview of the races on offer on the homepage. Left column under events.

We wish you a lot of fun on our servers.

The Altbierbude will be 18 years old this year.
Under Events seit 2007 you can find most of the races offered since its foundation.Edit the 2.:
The ETCC HardCore only is a supporting program to the ETCC and is free for everyone.

I have played GTL back 15 or more years ago but never online. Just recently I got a wheel, so it is basically a new experience.

For now, I can log in the servers normally and do some laps but there is frequency of the server reloading to me.
Back on a practice lap there was a car in front of me and suddenly it stopped. Followed by a reloading to the server. When I got back to the server that car was doing a normal lap.
Was about to start a online race in Monza and just before the start, the server reloaded.
I wonder if this is a connection problem, as I'm from Brazil, a bit far from the servers.

Any suggestion on this connection issue ?

Hmm, sounds like a connection problem: First of all; hopefully not a Wifi, but LAN connection, that makes a lot of difference. Otherwise you can try lower settings in multiplayer under connection type, maybe that will help. The further to the left, the lower.

I have set the connection in game to LAN and I could start a race but at the final laps everyone just disappeared from the server.

Where are these settings under connection type you mention ?
Is it in game or on the Altibierbude app ?

Where you now see "LAN" as the connection type, reduce the value (to the left) and try out the various setting options. In my case, for example, it is set one level lower to (in German) Cable/DSL.

a selction for the connect is in the bottom, middle of your sceern in the lobby.

Edit:

Just got on my first official race in the servers.
Got a stable connection during qualy, which made me feel comfortable for the race, but as I joined the starting grid I could see only MichaW Porsche. After the start as I moved my car to the left side of the track suddenly everyone appeared.

I tried the Modem 56K on the connection settings as I had problem with it set on LAN.
Looks like I will have to try another option.

This is a bug in GTL that sometimes occurs, but has nothing to do with the connection quality. If you suddenly don't see any other cars on the grid, simply press plus and then minus once and the other cars will reappear. Everyone has probably experienced this at some point, unfortunately
