Please help , I have reinstaled GTL , downloaded the 1.1 update . but comes up file damaged have downloaded 3 times but to no avail. Cannot go online without the update , its a SFX ZIP archive which WinRaR has a problem with i think , help would be most welcome

Hi Wayne and welcome to the Bude.

When I first started on GTL I had similar problems to the one you are describing and it was simply me trying to open a zipped file the wrong way.

I eventually downloaded '7-Zip' (for free) and found it easier to use. Once I told it where to download files I just right click on the zipped file I want to open and ask it to 'Extract Here' and the unzipped file appears so you can then put it wherever you want.

here are a few solutions


a ghost - file takes no time to download

if on the first download something happened to damage the file, then every time you try to download it again to the same location on your PC it will see the original damaged file and not full download the new file.

delete the original downloaded file, download to another location, download the v1.1 patch from another location on the net as the one you have downloaded might be damaged, check GTL is installed where you think it's installed, unzip to another location.

Hi Many thanks have sorted it now , it seems to have been i had GTL on the 2nd hard disk as a back up and the registry would not allow the update to open if all that makes sence ! . Can i download all cars and tracks in some way ?
