Auch der 10. Lauf der Carretera Panamericana war wiedermal ziemlich klasse !! Ich konnte mir in der Qualli den 3. Startplatz mit 0,024 Sekunden Rückstad auf den 2. Ratus erfahren.Pole hatte wiedermal Michael K. - natürlich mit deutlichem Vorsprung!! Beim Start kam ich dann super weg und konnte direkt einen Platz gut machen. Im folgenden Verlauf konnte sich Michael vorne natürlich absetzen. Aber auch ich konnte meinen Vorsprung nach hinten kontinuierlich ausbauen und hatte vor meinem 1. Stop ca. 15 - 20 Sekunden Vorsprung.Kam dann als 6. wieder auf die Piste.Das Rennen verlief weiterhin absolut reibungslos und so konnte ich meinen Vorsprung bis zum 2. Stop noch etwas ausbauen - kam danach als 5. wieder auf die Strecke.Im letzten Stint hatte ich dann ein paar kleinere Konzentrationsprobleme - aber nichts weiter passiert. Hatte dann so ca. zwischen Runde 40 und 48 noch ein paar ganz nette Fights mit Thunder und acid_root - da beide allerdings noch einen Stop vor sich hatten wars eher weniger spannend! Am Ende konnte ich dann mit ca. 35 Sekunden Vorsprung auf acid_root auf Platz 2 ins Ziel fahren. Alles in allem ein gutes aber auch vom Start weg sehr einsames Rennen. Grats an Michael, der in einer anderen Liga *wiedermal* gefahren ist! THX an alle für das faire Rennen!

there was some inaccuracy with the poster and the track actually driven yesterday. The poster said the track to be driven was "Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course". There are two versions available with the names "Mid-Ohio sports car course" and "Mid Ohio Sports Car Course [Virtua_LM]". Either of them exactly matches the one named in poster.
Despite of that I had no doubts the track meant in poster was the first one. But it wasn't! When there's more than one version of the very same layout I would like the poster say it in a way there is no chance for any mistakes and the server should follow that decision at event time.

I have to admit the "Virtua_LM" version driven yesterday was more detailed but also gave lower FPS especially when approaching the main straight and pits area. What annoyed me most was that the good setup I had driven offline was not so good any more. I had no problems to adjust it to the changed track but I couldn't be sure for tyre wear or fuel consumption any more. By my opinion a carefully planned pit-stop strategy is an essential part of the race. Every second spared gives you same amount advantage on track!

Once again I wanted to take the light and agile Renault Alpine that has become one of my favourites during this Carretera Panamericana series. There were two longer straights on that track where the Alpine was not so competitive but on the curvy sections it was simply brilliant. I could qualify only 17th and due to the two spins I made by my own on first laps I was dropped 25th of total 26 at that time. Still I felt confident and began to pick scalps one by one. My goal was to finish in top-10. I was quite sure I was 2 laps behind the race leader M. Käsbeitzer and the lap 50 was to be last for me. I had been chasing for Stones who held position 10 for several laps already. I was able to come couple of seconds closer lap by lap. Finally he had to come in from lap 49 to take some fuel, I suppose. The chase was over - on the other hand it was a relief but it took the chance of last lap thriller away too! So my goal was fulfilled and I rolled over the finish line 10th. That was a satisfying result among all those E-types, Corvettes and Ferraris. Thanks everyone for a fair race!

This race was realy great. I liked the course and was stunned about the times racers were doing. Unfortunately I crashed with my beautyful corvette after a couple of laps into one of those haystack a side the course which was the end for me. But the cars driven and course choosen was definately a highlite of my young online racer career. Fair play was extraordinary and 2 servers were full!! Hope to there will be similar races coming up soon. Cu racing. Champiodecourse

sorry Timo, you're right, I forgot the info that we drive the Virtua LM version of Mid Ohio.
It will be the last mistake of the Carretera Panamericana. With yesterdays race this series is finished and we're looking forward to the sportscar champinship. Hope this will be fun for you too and the races are close and fair.

No real harm done!

I'm sorry that despite of your invitation I did'n take part of those mini-events last Thursday. Like I wrote on forum I took my GTR2 disc case and blew off the dust from it. I created my account on lobby and Pilsbierbude and downloaded all that 10 GB of data all night through. I have not driven any lap online yet but practiced several races with different cars against AI offline. That's a great game too but GTL is still my true love among racing games. And it's really great to race with all you great guys here!

I'm looking forward to the Sportscar Championship which feels very delicate! The Porsche 935 that is allowed on some races feels a great car but I have to familiarize myself with it a lot more than those few laps of Interlagos I drove with it for comparison to 911. It's that kind of beast!

ich wollte auch noch etwas zum Event los werden.
Ich war auf Server 4 unterwegs und mußte in der 2 Runde nach einem Treffer aufs Heck ins grüne und viel auf den 21 Platz zurück. Kann passieren ist halt Racing Kurz danach noch ein Fehler und bis auf den vorletzten Platz zurück Aber dann fing der Spass erst richtig an. Bei meiner Aufholjagt hatte ich sehr schöne und faire Zweikämpfe. Rundenlang habe ich versucht an Headzy vorbei zukommen. Mal links mal rechsts angetäuscht, zu zweit durch die Kurven. Auf der Geraden konnte ich seinen Ferrari nicht folgen, doch in den Kurven ging der Alpine deutlich besser.
Auch Erel68 in seinem 300 SL hat es mir nicht einfach gemacht Mal vorbei, dann wieder hinter ihm. Bis ich eine Überrundung ausgenutzt habe und vorbei gekommen bin. Das war hohe Schule, immer fair genügend Platz zum überleben ohne einen Meter zu verschenken.
